Agreed. The lyrics today are a bit twee, but the words were penned by a local lad in WW1 about the sacrifices of men and animals during that war, and remembering the good times before. The tune was also written by a local gal. What better local anthem?

Beautiful lyrics and though it may seem a bit twee it, it evokes a strong sense of the beauty of the Test Valley and Hampshire which resonates with my personal affection for my home county. I live many miles away now but I have never lost my love for Hampshire.
