To build/expand on the current east stand! !!.

What happened to the whole expansion on 3 sides costing 15 million?

This doesn't work out

That suggests to me, that it would be in the club's interest to be the owner of the stadium so that the expansion pays for itself.

Cheers, lot of money to find after all that's been spent on training facilities and the academy, wouldn't it be better to expand the North or the South first I wonder. then again that cost could be 10 or 12 mill I suppose.

It's great isn't it?
Inflation sat an all time low but the builders quote for the Liberty extension is doubling in 6 months.
I say we get another quote and see if we can get the VAT knocked off by paying cash.

It's just the internet, init.

That's what you get when our board ignore local companies and instead favour an Irish firm.

Had me stumped as well. I though I was missing something obvious.

Income from rents and stadium income coming to the club instead of the current owners.

We dont pay any/much rent and running the stadium has its own overheads.

Blimey! Why don't we pay rent?

We do pay rent, but it's a really favourable deal. It's one of the reasons I don't see why we need to buy the stadium.

I also can't help but think, with this talk of new ownership, it's better for the club's long term stability if the council retain ownership.

If the Council want to offload it, and payments can be spread over say 10 years, then if we are going to buy it, I'd like to see the Trust buy it.

From my limited understanding I think the East stand was going to be the most expensive, due to the size of the stand but also they wanted to add new corporate facilities as well. I guess adding all those boxes and the other plans for food outlets and bars etc would make that one the most costly.

Can someone confirm that he meant 18 million just for one stand, as opposed to that price for the entire lot.

Huw C said a figure of £50m was needed to build the extension and complete works at both Landore and Fairwood.

I wonder what the ownership deal is at Fairwood? It's some sort of joint venture with Swansea Uni I believe, but who owns the terra firma?

And whilst we're about it, do we own Landore?

Isn't Fairwood common land? Can't we all go and graze our sheep and cattle there?
