1-0 win on a Friday night and it was live on tv, quite unique in them days. Drove up, watched the game and came straight back after the game! Had to stop for a kip in one service station or would have ended up in a ditch on the side of the road somewhere!!

Southampton FA Cup 5th Round Matches ..... sounds like one of those really dodgy MasterMind Specialised Rounds!!

WBA away and the subsequent replay rammed in like sardines in 76 is probably my favourite and Channon scoring very early doors.

There has been no shortage of Car Crash matches though (having swotted up a bit on In That Number!!) Losing to Wrexham at The Dell on a cold rainy day, Loose Bruce somehow managing to let in 6 goals after we were cruising 2 up at HT v Ronnie Rosenthal and Spurs (I wasn't at that match, but heard on BBC News in Abu Dhabi, we were 2 up at HT and went to bed happy. Presumed it was a misprint when I saw the score next day 2-6

The ultimate car crash though, was the 3-0 to 3-4 in 45 minutes in the replay at Tranmere!!! To this day I'm sure if we hadn't have scored the 3rd goal just before HT we'd have gone on to win, but the players strolled of at HT thinking job done!! Fair Play to Tranmere though they were worth the win. Luckily I only had a short journey to Leigh afterwards, Christ knows how those on the long mid week trek home felt.

We took around 10,000 up there, if that was the FA Cup game?

About the same we took to Nottm Forest in the 70s and nicked their Trent End.

I went to every round on the monster coach from Forest to Highbury, with the exception of Portsmouth which we did by car there and CF's Doudle-decker bus home.

Went to every game of that cup run

Salisbury boys organised transit van up to Forest, sitting on mattresses in the back

We then organised our own Coach down to Fratton Park (picking up a few lads form Regents Park Hotel) and another coach up to Blackburn

And for Sheff Weds and Everton we had progressed to two coaches

Saints must have taken getting on for 100 coaches up to Sheff Weds, the line of parked coaches went miles up the hill on a road to the north of the ground, and we took 8,000 for a game that was live on ITV from memory, and we had to drive back under police escort to south of Oxford before we were allowed to stop for a pint

Our crowd also done everyone each time in the trusty old Tranny (that'll get Arthur excited) except the skates when the rattler was used. Great run let down by a disappointing end.

Who went to the 5th round replay at Millwall in 1986? The old Den was quite an experience.

The 3-1 win at Spurs 90 or 91 was one of the best all round away displays i have ever seen. FAC 3rd round it was.

Battery included.
