Looks like it is 2020 Darr although I have seen 4 year contract from 2014. If the former is true, and if he comes good, we can either take another look or sell him on.
Still not sure that anything we currently have is better. Routs ageing, Narsingh seemingly incapable of beating a full back and Dyer struggling to recover from being seriously crocked.

Mr Clement looks like he will generally set up our team with no specialist wingers, consequently Montero will be surplus to playing/fiscal requirements. An injury ravaged career at Swansea may end with a loan or permanent move to a Spanish club.

According to Darran he will be out of contract in a few months..

Meh. If we loan him out for the next 2 or 3 years, thats 2 or 3 years worth of loan fees we get, plus him off the wage bill anyway

This is possible but it will mean a considerable change from last season where crosses into the box were king.
Even if Plan A is going down the middle we still need to mix it up and a more direst option and wingers must also be on the cards Shirley?

If it is just as a game changer for 10 or 15 minutes at the end of a game Dan James could do just as good a job as Montero.
Montero did little defending and when he lost the ball generally just watched it go.
James can cross a ball very well, better than any of our present wingers, he is also probably quicker as well, but I doubt if he will ever get a chance to show what he can do in the first team.
I do not say he is a "starter", but as a late impact sub he couldn't do any worse than Routledge or Montero.

28 ? !!

Fookin' el , then he won't be learning the finer aspects of the game any day soon then, his pace will be on the wane soon and that basically makes him a lower league standard player but without the strength !!

Bye bye Jeff , i've changed my mind on you !

We were afraid of Everton snapping him up so gave him an extended contract

No change from last season. Look where the crosses were coming from - Carroll and Fer moving into wide positions, Olsson, ocassionally Naughton and Siggy from set pieces. We haven't played with natural width since PC came here. Narsingh is thr novelty natural wideman who offers something different..

I don't like it as a spectacle as it seems to restrict options on the break, especially down the right, but PC seems to want his wider men to tuck in and be compact when defending and then break from central positions. I miss the days of Dyer and Sinclair hugging the touchline, but we are where we are. Montero hasn't got a role in PC's team, so makes sense he goes on loan. A shsme as he's one of the few players who gets fans of our seats.
