Went to see Billericay on Saturday.

Cole Kpekawa was signed for the last few games.

Played central defence.

Struggled and a little over-weight.

Lost the man he was marking for the oppositions first goal.

Didn't we get £500k for him? Sounds like a cracking deal.

Interesting Kpekewa update. And I don't know why but I read/ sang it like the beginning of Fairy Tale of New York

Remember the indignation when we let him go?

Didn't someone (maybe Les) allude to potential attitude problems as the reason we accepted the offer for him?

Odd for Barnsley to miss a trick with their track record but seems we got that one right.

yep, thats right

there was a lot of uproar about letting him go, so the club leaked a story to david mcintyre about his bad attitude. clearly the club put this out there to get some of the fans off their back (though it appears the stories were true)

a few weeks later at the fans forum, les was asked about it and said "you can take a horse to water, but you cant make him drink", implying he had a bad attitude

i never rated him... had no feel for the game and couldnt track the flight of a long ball... barnsley were key to get rid of him despite having ivnested so much in him... colchester relased him... st mirren released him... and now hes deep into the non leagues

"Kpekawa found himself out of the first-team picture as manager Paul Heckingbottom preferred to play right-back Andy Yiadom out of position at left-back, while the club coaches worked with Kpekawa to suit a more central role"

In other words... he wasn't very good.

Struggled to get in to the team at St. Mirren too although to be fair to him, it seems Anton Ferdinand has been ahead of him in the pecking order.

More importantly.

How my heart bled for Billericay not qualifying for the play offs!

That is not a go at the club who I used to quite like, but I won't wish them well under their current ownership.

Billericay is the dumping ground for all overweight, overrated, over the hill, smack/coke heads run by a (see first line) ex work mate in rehab supposedly, Jamie O'Hara, Jermaine Pennent & of course Paul Konchesky who's not a smack head but just thick.
I could go on...........
