It’s so much more than a comedy. The humour becomes incidental to the portrayal of an incredibly mixed up character and one which males may find difficult to recognise or understand in a female.

Oddly, it was that side, especially the relationships with her sister, the priest and 'the misogynist' that I enjoyed more. I just did not get 'this is the funniest show ever' praise it got from some quarters. Definitely worth a watch. I have to be honest I watched the whole of both series back-to-back on a very long journey. I was also a bit depressed as watched the whole of 'Chernobyl' on the first leg. | | | |

I'm looking forward to a law being passed next year which would require everyone to say how hilarious Fleabag is and how incredible Phoebe Double-Barreled is. Wouldn't surprise me if the same law will also require everyone to say how excellent Breaking Bad is, whilst also pointing out it wasn't quite as good as The Wire. That latter point is of course completely accurate, on both counts.
While I'm still allowed to say it, just, I'll make myself completely socially unacceptable by saying I thought it was merely alright. I even laughed a few times. Killing Eve was her superior work, and funnier, even if unintentionally. | |

Hearing it was funny, I made a bit of a mistake starting to watch the first episode of Fleabag with my daughter.
In the opening scene Fleabag is taken up the *rse by a bloke she just met down the club.
Bit embarrassing all round really. | |
