It is only temporary for the cycle lanes.
The cycle lanes dont remove any capacity on the A40.
Even if they widened the A40 at Acton all that would happen is the queue would move down the road a bit to the next pinch point. The m25 has shown that constantly building extra capacity is pointless as it still fills up. | |

In recent weeks, they have shut off all access to the west bound A40 and from OOCL they have made it two lanes. I can’t see that changing back to 3. Glad the no left turn is temporary as it took me an hour and a half to get to A40 at Horn Lane on Saturday. I hope it is sorted by Friday. | |
