I really don't understand "politcally correct" when it is used as an insult. Being polite or correct is not necessarily political.
As a jew I find the use of the word "Yid" as an epithet offensive.
Yes, it is a mispronunciation of the German, yes it is a word in the language of my grandparents, but that doesn't permit the gratuitous use. Very simmilar to "n*gg*r"
As for Spurs being the "jewish" team. Arsenal have just as many jewish supporters (including The Chief Rabbi of The United Synagogue) and what is more QPR have had more jewish players than both of them.
Just as an aside, the most widely supported football team amongst the members of Brighton and Hove Progressive Synagogue is QPR, and a straw poll amongst those shows that we all find calling Spurs "Yiddos" or "Yid Army" offensive | | | |
