Blackpool will be looking to continue their strong early season form this weekend with the Seasiders taking on lowly Accrington Stanley who currently sit in 20th place on six points in the League One table.

Last time out the Tangerines ran out late winners away at fellow high flyers Doncaster Rovers with a 1-0 victory, after a tightly contested fixture that could’ve gone either way, with both teams getting their fair share of goal scoring chances.

It was substitute Armand Gnanduillet who stole all three points for Blackpool as he netted the only goal of the game in the 93rd minute after a swift counter-attack, with Doncaster caught outnumbered at the back, a great smash and grab victory for the Seasiders who had enjoyed less of the ball throughout the contest despite creating numerous chances.

After the delight of such a late victory, Blackpool must now go again, with a tough away fixture against an Accrington Stanley side who will be desperate to get some more points on the board after losing out on all three points against Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday night, after conceding an equaliser towards the latter stages of the game after leading 1-0.

Here, we take a look at the changes Simon Grayson should make to his Blackpool XI for their game against Accrington Stanley this weekend…

Rangers loanee Jack Alnwick will again be expected to take his place between the sticks for the Tangerines, with the 26-year-old being ever-present for the club this season, keeping two clean sheets and only conceding 11 goals in nine games so far this campaign.

We expect Grayson to stick with the same back three who performed well against Doncaster last time out as they limited the Donny attack to only three attempts on target, in what was a resolute performance from Tilt, Heneghan and Edwards on Tuesday night.

The Blackpool boss is also likely to start with a five man midfield once again, particularly with Accrington operating with a four man midfield against Wycombe, it would allow Blackpool to create an overload in the centre of the pitch, thus helping them to dominate possession and get the ball wide to Husband and Feeney.

Lastly, we expect there to be a reshuffle up front with two of Blackpool’s key performers this season, Gnanduillet and Kaikai, coming back into the starting XI after both being on the bench against Donny earlier this week to replace Joe Nuttall and Ryan Hardie, who both proved to be ineffectual for the Seasiders on Tuesday night.

Kaikai will help to stretch the Accrington backline by making runs in behind whilst Gnanduillet will provide an aerial threat in the penalty area as he attempts to get on the end of crosses from out wide, which is one of the main features of Blackpool’s style of play.
