Shaun MacDonald reveals his first two senior Swansea goals were the fulfillment of a dream

MacDonald was on target twice last night as the Swans progressed to the second round of the Carling Cup with a 2-0 win against Brentford.

He scored once in each half to take the Swans to the next stage - his first two goals in the senior side following some impressive displays in recent months.

And he told the official site after the game that the goals were the fulfillment of a childhood dream and that plenty of his friends and family were watching the moment

"Ever since I was a kid I've dreamed about scoring for the Swans,'' explained the local Blaenymaes product via swanseacity.net. "I suppose it's been a long time fulfilling that dream.

"But I'm delighted. I had a load of family and friends watching the game and I'm just pleased for them and the fans.

"I've been practicing my finishing a lot in training and I'd like to thank the staff for all the time they've devoted to me.

"The first goal was a tap-in, but I was really pleased with the second one. Now I've just got to keep my head down and keep working hard.

"I'd love to get more games under my belt and score more goals, but the competition within the squad is tough and I've got to keep taking my chance when it comes.''
