Megson Finally Gives Up On Bodde

The saga over Ferrie Bodde's future looks to be over after Gary Megson gave up on landing the Dutchman

Bolton made their final offer last week - thought to be worth £3.5m - but it fell someway short of Swansea's valuation of the former Den Haag man.

The Evening Post reported earlier this week that following talks with chairman Huw Jenkins, Bodde had decided to stay at the Liberty Stadium until January at least.

Wanderers boss Megson has long been an admirer of the 26 year old and was strongly linked with making a move for the midfielder last January - prior to his season ending injury sustaned against Birmingham.

Bodde is expected to return to first team football in the next 4 to 6 weeks.

"Ferrie was one of the first people that we tried to sign, and we've had negotiations with Swansea, but we're not in a position where there's going to be agreement," Megson said.

"I have stated to our chairman and our owner that we've gone as far as I want us to go. With that, it's done now.

"So the priority now is a different position."
