Central defender and Captain Vincent Kompany has committed his future to Manchester City by signing a new five year deal with the club.

The 28 year old has been with City for six season having signed from German club Hamburg in 2008 for around £6 million, he has made nearly 250 appearances for the club and found the back of the net twelve times during his six years with the club.

Since moving to the Etihad Stadium Kompany has established himself as an integral part of the Manchester City defence and one of the best defenders in Europe.

Aleksandar Kolarov, David Silva and Samir Nasri have all signed new deal committing their futures to the club this summer.
