The difference between a title winning side and a 7th place one has been injury to Van Persie and a conspicuous lack of ridiculously soft penalties and 98th minute winners.
Ferdinand, Vidic & arguably Evra are finished at the top level, they still have no central midfield despite blowing £27.5m on Fellaini who is completely lost and Rooney couldn't be less interested since his £300k/week renewal. Shambles and a huge job for Van Gaal to shake up. They need a bright young manager to go in and settle for a long rebuild job. The fans though will never let it happen so they'll get Van Gaal papering over a few cracks for a couple of years before being in the same position again.

It was a joke FFS! But you are wrong about them having a championship winning squad. Add to the names of Roony ( good player )and RVP (great player) with the likes of Cleaverly, Fletcher, Welbeck, Jones, Young and many others who are quite frankly very ordinary players. Ferguson knew how it was all goin to go tits up and thats why he retired. Even he wouldnt have got much better out of that squad. | | | |
