Well if anyone was hoping for a couple of decent attacking players in the crop of trialists then you're going to be disappointed!

Only positives for me was byrne who seems to be coming on well and Bennett looked good in the first 45. Number 6 looked a decent prospect to me and the lad who replaced him with no number. Both were similar very young but were comfortable on the ball both played just in front of the back four.

Ignoring the fact the majority of the trialists were poor the real negatives were that the defense fell apart when phil edwards came on and got even worse when jordan came on :-(.

Im not gonna lose any sleep over it though very few will play in the first team, if any.

Really not sure why Coleman saw this as a "first team game".

So many new faces and trialists it was difficult to judge. You'd only see Lillis and Bennett as starters come August 18th, the rest were a mid-mash.

Byrne did ok at centre half, it begs the question why he was ever played at right back. Bennett was solid too. Left back was quite good but was all right foot!

Craney and Putterill looked like they could be effective once fully fit.

Gele had a good touch at times and worked hard, would liked to have seen Johnson playing wider as he caused problems but was often crowded out.

Who was the grey haired sub? He looked full of energy.
