It could have been worse š A couple of my old favourites: What a goal, heās just beaten Shilton from 35 yards, and nobody can beat Shilton from that distance (not exact but you get the gist) The referee has looked at his whistle and blown his watch for full time [Hugh Johns at Villa Park from memory] [Post edited 10 Jun 15:54]

Well, for a start he has 10 brothers and sisters, the reason I know that was a āColemanballsā commentary moment from the man himself, David Coleman, who was the BBC commentator for the 1976 Cup Final. At the the final whistle as the cameras panned in on Ian Turner, Coleman said āIan Turner, one of 11 children who started the game nervously, has ended up a winnerā Taken literally, in the 76 Cup Final, Man U were beaten by 11 children š So, he has plenty of close family which could create a dilemma as to who it goes to I suppose. |

Interesting point re Ross Stewart. I have had a look at his showreels and Iād say there is a 50/50 chance he could be another Rickie Lambert and by that I mean Lambertās ability to succeed was questioned by some when we were promoted from League 1 > the Championship and then even more so when we were promoted from the Championship > the PL. RL proved his doubters wrong perhaps RS can do the same IF he can stay fit. Iām not trying to compare the two in any way other than picking up on the valid question of him being unproved at PL level and hoping he can do what Lambert was able to do in terms of adapting well to the standards needed to make a telling contribution. I guess only time will tell. |

I would say this is fairly simple, Trabzonspor should be given two clear options: Pay up or Shut up We are not a registered charity for Turkish chancers, they can plead poverty all day long but if they canāt afford the player then he goes to someone who can, or at least be more realistic with a proper offer. itās that simple. |

Itās costing him too much money to buy enough vodka to get the doll bladdered enough to let him get near it, consequently, too much spare time on his hands marooned in his mumās back bedroom š¢ |

How, our allocation should be around the 36,000 mark, (last year Coventry City were given 36,237) so if it is the same all our ST holders and all members with any recent ticket buying history should be OK. As for when, I'd expect Salisbury Saint to let us all know what's what as soon as he gets the info. If you fancy treating yourself, Club Wembley are doing a one-off Diamond Package corporate with a three course buffet pre-match and inclusive booze for a mere Ā£499 pp, or if there's 8, 12 or 20 of you then there's a private box option at Ā£599 pp which given the price of the Diamond Package buffet is not that much of a price hike, albeit from a robust starting point. |

Good question, even with the equivalent of a golf handicap in the form of a 4 point deduction for Forest and an 8 point deduction for Everton none of the promoted teams from last season managed to avoid the trap door back to the Championship. Considering the money sloshing around in the PL perhaps the time has come to give promoted teams a āGolden Helloā in the form of a substantial one-off additional payment to assist with the cost of recruiting the quality of players needed to survive. Controversial some will say but if the situation has now got to this stage where to survive you have to break the financial rules and then take the hit like Forest have done then surely something needs to be done to help the promoted Clubs as trying to regulate the spending at clubs like Citeh and other so called elite clubs will always be doomed to fail as they will always find a way round it. Or, as in Citehās case get charged with over 100 breaches of the financial regs then nothing happensā¦ |

As already stated, the United fans were not the nicest of people back in 76, saw one get his comeuppance after the game, he was being chased across the car park by the police and to increase his chances of getting away he started to run across the roofs of parked cars, all went well until he went through the roof of a Triumph Stag convertible and broke his leg! Carted off screaming in agony by the police. Also remember the trip back down the M3 with those bridges packed with fans and locals who just came out to applaud. Every supporterās car had silk scarves or bar scarves out of at least two windows. Never felt that sense of camaraderie you get inside a ground on a motorway before or since. Best banner: Yellow & blue verses Manchester WHO?? Longest few minutes of my life between Stokeseyās goal and the final whistle! āColemanballsā commentary moment (from the man himself) picked up on years after the event from watching a VHS tape of the game: as the final whistle blew David Coleman said as the camera zoomed in on our keeper, āIan Turner, one of eleven children who started the game nervously, has ended up a winnerā So,Hansen, you never win anything with kids, eh?? š Good old Coleman, bless him. Then Mick Channonās testimonial on the Monday night, that was something else! Never seen so many people crammed into The Dell, watched it all from the front row of one of the Milton Road chocolate boxes. A great evening to follow a great day. 48 years ago to the minute, weād not long scored the winner. Happy memories šā½ļøš [Post edited 2 May 0:49]
