How Confident Are You For Sunday
at 20:26 21 May 2024

I don't have a clue what will happen on Sunday. I think we have a decent chance. We beat West Brom quite impressively under pressure. We have every chance. But Leeds are good side on their day. Obviously I hope we do it, but not a clue whether we will or won't.

Have Leeds fans been able to get tickets in the Southampton end?
at 20:21 21 May 2024

I think Leeds have made their supporters go through a much more rigorous process. It's not that they arn't selling out, it's just that they are only selling to certain sections at a time. Loads of Leeds fans want tickets l, but can't get them as they haven't been to five games etc.

This is absolute rubbish. A few defensive, worried Leeds fans (who are feeling threatened by Saints as a massive rival) put out a few tweets that their fans would be buying some of our tickets as Leeds are so massive.

The only chance of a few getting in our end, is if the few who got in the home end when we played Leeds at St Mary's, then also bought a membership the day after we beat West Brom. I can assure you all that SFC staff are wise to this! They know that if a fan only attended the Leeds game this season and have never attended St Mary's before in their life, then they buy a membership a day after the semi final, that they are Leeds and their ticket would have been cancelled.

As always a few might sneak in by buying tickets on ebay, the black market or through friends but likewise, a few Saints might be in the Leeds end too. The Saints end sold out to season ticket holders and members and was only on general sale for about an hour. They had to have been to one game this season too. If it was the Leeds game and a membership was bought the day after the semi final, the ticket office would be investigating for sure. So no, there won't be groups of Leeds in our end!

Don't worry about not getting the email. The automated email system is back logged and in some cases it has crashed. It's just because of the sheer number of emails being sent on just a couple of days. I had to ask for my email to be sent directly (rather than automated) as I did not get the automated one and still haven't! If you have an order number and the right money has come out of your account you have your tickets.

Very tempted by this option. Save a load of money sharing a car with others. Burger and a pint amongst Saints fans. Hop on the train to Wembley. Seems like a good.option to me.

I've read that too but you need to also have a purchase history at SFC as well as a membership. Have Leeds already sold out?

Looks like a good option, if you want to drive.

That's how I see it. As long as nobody gets hurt, football stadiums should be a place to let off steam, forget life and enjoy yourself. Our fans were passionate and loud and the euthoria spilled onto the pitch and a few idiots went over to the away fans. No big deal for me either.

Personally, I think they would be better spending their time fighting knife crime, gun crime and crimes that results in loss of life, rather than worrying about a few alcohol fueled, over excited fans who entered the pitch after an emotional night. The fans who went over to the West Brom support were idiots, but that's the human race for you. The police and stewards should have already put lines of security 5 metres in front of the away end in my opinion and completely blocked the area off.

Perhaps the club and the police should have lined the pitch with security shoulder to shoulder, if they wanted to prevent the pitch invasion.

Making it uncomfortable for the opposition
at 15:37 18 May 2024

I read that the West Brom manager was upset about their team coach being made to wait in a road before being allowed access to the front of the stadium. He was also upset about temporary advertising boards being put on the touchline to stop their long throws. All understandable, but we should absolutely be making it as uncomfortable as possible for the away team. Well done Saints and well done the Saints fans for making it such an intimidating and uncomfortable place last night. We need to make as uncomfortable and as difficult as possible for the away team. I am all for it (within reason and non-violent ofcourse).

Everybody was hyped up, many fans full of alcohol in the build up to the game, it was a massive game, lots of adrenaline and some fans couldn't hold it in. The pitch invasion occurred through pure ecstasy and emotion. The fans who goaded the West Brom fans were idiots, but what can they do, ban six thousand fans? Perhaps take action against those few fans throwing missiles and being violent. The club might get fined for failing to control its fans but I think, apart from that, just let it go and put it down to a very emotionally charged night.

Apart from a very small minority, our fans were incredible last night and was great to see such passion from our supporters. I wouldn't want to discourage it.

Fans drove that team on tonight

It was immense tonight. I don't think I can remember a Saints atmosphere quite like that. The welcome was incredible, never ever seen thousands of fans at the front of the stadium like that. It was an incredible night

Who Is Doing What Tomorrow
at 22:49 16 May 2024

Will get there early ish and see what's happening. What is this 25% off food and drinks? Does this mean discounts on the burgers from the burger vans outside the ground as we greet the bus or just the fans zone? Or just 25% off food inside the stadium?

I say no pitch invasion if we do it tomorrow. Leeds didn't invade the pitch. Win tomorrow and we still arn't there yet, so stay off the pitch tomorrow I say. The only major celebration will be promotion. No point celebrating like that until we are promoted.

Norwich have been terrible haven't they. Almost scared of the atmosphere. Leeds at Wembley (and I am not arrogant enough to think we are there) would be a hell of a final (for the neutral!)

Leeds are so strong on their day. I worry about playing them at Wembley, they are such a good side but Leeds it will be if we win tomorrow.

PL clubs to vote on VAR
at 23:50 15 May 2024

Yep, VAR has spoilt the game. For me, it was never about a toenail offside or a slight pull on a shirt 2 minutes earlier before a goal is scored. I always thought it would be used if there was video evidence of serious foul play that the ref might have missed or a goal that was clearly off side (by a mile), that again the officials missed. It has become a farce I want it gone. The good old days were far better. Football is the game we love - fast paced, passionate, crunching tackles, last minute goals. VAR is taking that away and it needs to be binned.

Hope they get rid. One real benefit of being in the championship has been not having VAR. A one second glance at the linesman and then you can celebrate a goal. VAR has sapped the life out of football. This season, we have had a few goals against and a few goals for that shouldn't have stood. It does even itself out. I can take a few mistakes from the ref. GET RID!
