I doubt it could have happened even if there was 'a plot to oust him'. It would have needed a special EGM at a later date, so it was never going to happen there and then. Yes, there was discussion about the manner in which he conducted the meeting (quite rightly) and dispute about the picture he painted, and things that he DIDN'T tell us that others seemed to be aware of, but, like you, I'm not aware of any lurking plot to remove him on the night of the EGM. As stated elsewhere, he was a man under immense pressure, trying to save a football club from extinction and I have openly criticised him and his attitude towards fans previously. That said, I don't think anyone on here can have been envious of the position he was in and none of us can be sure that we would have done any better, or anything different. That phase of our clubs' existence is now firmly behind us, hopefully forever. We have all come through it scarred, but ready to fight on and the co-Chairman now has some of the best brains possible alongside him to see him and the club into calmer and warmer waters. We must consign the past to where it belongs and leave it there. It's a bad memory, but there are many good memories yet to be made. Let's get on and do it together. Up the Dale. |

Sid Brown lived in Pearl Street behind the stand. He was a genius. He taught me maths at Broadfield school, where everyone in the class was given a latin nickname. An eccentric, but bloody hell, he was as sharp as a pin. Wore the same brown pinstripe suit all his career. Regularly had newspaper bits stuck to his face, where he'd cut himself shaving. Great bloke. As for Corkhill. Chemistry teacher - A thorough tw@t. Sholto Moxley was at Broadfield. Once caught a mouse by hand and squeezed the life out of it in front of the class. A disturbed man, who I am told took his own life many years ago. |

Great character was Jimmy. Always chatting to himself and to anyone who would engage with him. Also a regular attendee at the cinema where he would give a running commentary to all those sat around him - much to their annoyance. A harmless, friendly soul and staunch supporter of every sports team in town. Dane Street, Athletic Ground sand Spotland were all well trodden routes for Jimmy. Happy days. |

Those without smart devices can still buy a season card in person or buy a ticket on a match-by-match basis. No-one is being marginalised. If they don't want smart devices, that's their own choice. |

There should be a minimum sum per game, that clubs receive in order to cover the costs of staging the match. Otherwise what's the point in losing money in a competition that is never going to be well attended. |

No surprise for me. Spends too much time on his arse pleading for non-existent fouls and ambling about as if he couldn't care less. He has the talent but not the heart and application needed. He'll get fixed up somewhere else, no doubt. |

It's a scandalous decision and another kick in the balls for smaller clubs. There have been many magical cup replays involving teams from the lower echelons of the FL and non-league and many clubs have benefitted massively from the money they have earned from favourable draws. I have no idea what the FA are thinking by doing this. It penalises the very clubs that need it most. |

I watched Borehamwood batter Aldershot 3-0 earlier tonight. They were were a strong, dangerous attacking side who were quick and played like they were fighting for their lives. Very impressive and unless we are up for a fight on Tuesday against a seriously determined opposition, then we will be their next win. By no means are they relegation fodder. |

The Mitchell dismissal looked very harsh from my vantage point, but when the opposition manager consoles you as you leave the field of play, you can tell I wasn't the only one who thought Mitchell was hard done by. Dale deserved a point for their spirit in the last 20 minutes. 55 minutes with 10 v 11 is a tough ask, but we deserved what we got, |

That probably says everything you need to know about the Chairman and his suitability for the role. |
