For the record, after a difficult start and after yesterday's second half, I have some hope that we'll now go on a run and end up (drum roll) upper mid table. Yay, I love it when QPR are mediocre, it's what we do best, and good riddance to the thousands of post 2007 fans. I remember the days when the suggestion of buying a QPR ticket in advance was laughable; now it's a necessity. Sell out crowds of immediately and vocally frustrated and impatient fans just isn't us. I liked 'that' manager, but some of his game management decisions were appalling no matter what your expectations for the season were. When it comes down to it, neither were really convincing victories. I wasn't there so feel free to correct me but Rotherham were the much better team in the first half and we could have gone in at half-time one or two goals down. The game would have been a lot harder from there.
But credit to JFH, when we were two-nil up, he was waving us forward. When he took off Philips and Hoilett off he replaced pretty much like-for-like with Chery and Mackie, when most managers would have opted for more defensive substitutions, given the points were in the bag. I really liked that - he's saying this team needs to learn how to score again, to go for the win, so get out there and do it. |  |

I was amazed to see a double substitution bringing on Jamie and Chery when we were leading away from home, particularly having capitulated in our last 50 games. I would never have guessed that in a million years. Can't see hardly any manager in Britain leading away from home bringing on two attackers in a double substitution. Madness, surely? I was pleased. Pleased he's got his first result obviously. I think he's stamped his authority down letting Charlie go early too. Pure conjecture but a fly on the wall in the half time dressing room. I can imagine JFH suggesting with Charlie gone he's looking to see if his other strikers fit their job descriptions. I suspect there 3 or 4 squeaky bums seeing Charlie shipped thinking 'Fck, maybe I'm next. Better pull me socks up.'
