Week 3 Results
ARSENAL 3 WEST HAM 1
First points of the season for Arsenal, while West ham are still to get one. An impressive 9 got this spot-on, and a further 18 had the outcome.
HUDDERSFIELD 0 CARDIFF 0
10-man Huddersfield have now scored just one goal in their last eight matches at the John Smith's Stadium in all competitions, after this bore draw. Well done to RSCOSWORTH for being the only one to have this spot-on, with 11 getting 1 point for predicting a 1-1. There were 16 who predicted a win for Huddersfield.
ASTON VILLA 1 READING 1
Despite a 93rd minute equliser Reading are still without a win, while Villa remain undefeated. That late goal for Reading means no points for anybody from this game. There were 30 who predicted a win for Villa, with 14 going for a 2-0, in what was equally the weeks most predicted result.
STOKE 2 HULL 0
Comfortable first win of the season for Stoke against 10-man Hull. There were 5 who had this spot-on, and another 17 got the outcome.
BRADFORD CITY 1 WYCOMBE 2
A first League win of the season for Wycombe. Only 2 (Pinault_Noir and basher2010) predicted this win for Wycombe, and they both got it spot-on. There were 28 who predicted a win for Bradford, with 14 going for a 2-1, in what was the weeks other most predicted result.
LINCOLN 3 NOTTS COUNTY 1
Lincoln go top after this comfortable win, while County remain at the bottom, with just that 1 point gained against you know who. A decent 6 had this spot-on, with a further 17 getting the outcome.
This was a week where I thought the home teams all looked good, and they were indeed well supported by most members. But only Arsenal, Stoke and Lincoln delivered, and they provided most of the weeks points. In the end we matched last weeks total of 23 spot-ons, and for the third week running all those who turned up got on the scoreboard. There were four members who got two 3 pointers, the best of which was Pinault_Noir who had that good Wycombe 2-1 and the Lincoln 3-1, and with two outcomes, he is the weeks top scorer with an excellent 8 points. Just losing out on this honour was Tropical_Us and oxfcolu who both had the 3-1 wins for Arsenal and Lincoln spot-on, and one outcome gave them a decent 7 points.
In the Premier The excellent start to the season continued for Tropical_Us, and his decent week takes him to the top. Last weeks leader RSCOSWORTH continued with his good start by having that Huddersfield bore draw spot-on, but he has to settle for second this week. A solid week for noah4x4 keeps him in the final Charity Shield spot. After his promotion gerry_us is starting to find his feet, and he is up three places into fourth. Going three places the other way is burnsieespana, but he still well in contention at this early stage. Plenty of outcomes for thrillseeker and mfb_cufc, but they both still await their first 3 pointer, and remain in the relegation zone. Just one week left now for Gate16 to avoid being expelled. I am not hopeful, but please prove me wrong.
In Division One By getting the Lincoln 3-1 spot-on Colukev continues to lead the way, but it is now by only a point from medicine_man who was another one to benefit by getting 3 points for the Arsenal 3-1. The decent weeks for oxfcolu and Pinault_Noir moves them both up to be a point further back in third and fourth. The other play-off spots continue to be held by Blue4U2 and Sector4. The other member to get two 3 pointers this week was blueeagle, the wins for Arsenal and Stoke, and they helped him to move up five places. The shock defeat for his beloved U's has made it a bad day at the office for durham_exile, as he drops seven places. Though that is no big deal at this early stage, as he is still only 5 points from the play-offs. With DCPete being reinstated, and becoming the 22nd member of this league, I think we could be back to 21 soon as there is a no show from Colu_Lancashireexile for the second week running. A no show also from ITFC1997 leaves them occupying the bottom two places.
