Week 11 Results

CARDIFF 4 FULHAM 2

Cardiff get their first win this season, and score four or more goals in a top-flight game for the first time since September 1961. Nobody got this spot-on, but 6 did have the outcome. There were 20 who predicted a win for Fulham.

ASTON VILLA 1 SWANSEA 0
New Villa boss Dean Smith celebrated his first game in charge with a victory. There were 5 who had this spot-on, and a further 15 got the outcome.

WIGAN 1 WEST BROM 0
This victory means Wigan have not lost at home since February, as they bring an end to 10-man West Brom's unbeaten seven match run. Well done to medicine_man for being the only one to get this spot-on, and only DCPete had the outcome. There were 25 who predicted a win for West Brom, with 13 going for a 2-1, in what was the weeks most predicted result.

BRISTOL ROVERS 0 OXFORD UNITED 0
Both sides struck the woodwork as Bristol Rovers and Oxford fought out a bore draw at the Memorial Stadium. Nobody had this spot-on, though 11 did get the outcome. There were 17 who predicted a win for Rovers.

LUTON 2 WALSALL 0
Luton inflicted Walsall's first away League defeat of the season with a goal in each half. There were 3 who got this spot-on, and another 14 had the outcome.

MACCLESFIELD 2 CARLISILE 1
Macclesfield avoided setting a new unwanted English Football League record as they came from behind to beat Carlisle. They had gone 36 League games without a win, equal with Derby. Well done to the 4 who had this spot-on by being brave enough to back Macclesfield, and to the 3 who got the outcome. There were 20 who predicted a win for Carlisle.

This was another week where each of the six games produced a well supported team, but with only Villa and Luton reading the script, it turned out to be a disappointing week for point scoring again. Just a total of 13 spot-ons, but two members did manage to have two each. They were sevebalo, who had those wins for Villa and Luton, and one outcome clinched the honour of being the weeks top scorer with a decent 7 points. Also having two 3 pointers was medicine_man who had the Luton win to go with his good Wigan pick, to give him a very good 6 points. Best of those to get one spot-on was oxfcolu, who got 3 points for the Macclesfield win, as he also got a very good 6 points.

In the Premier We have a new leader, as sevebalo takes full advantage of his top scoring effort. I think this is the first time he has ever been at the summit in the Premier, so congratulations to him on that achievement. Just 3 points for having the Villa win spot-on, but that was enough to move noah4x4 back into the final Charity Shield spot. After a slow start to the season a solid week from eagledares moves him up another place, and within 2 points of the top three. Even though burnsieespana and thrillseeker both had that good Macclesfield 2-1 spot-on, they failed to improve their positions, but did help condense the league to the extent that only 8 points separate the Charity Shield and relegation spots.

In Division One Just the two outcomes for Colukev, but it was enough to increase his lead by a further point. Only one point for durham_exile, but he clings onto the other automatic spot by virtue of the tie-break rules, as the pack close in to make it a one point difference between 2nd and 6th. The biggest mover in this league was medicine_man, who appears to have found his Happy Cup medication from last season, and his good week takes him up four places.

The draw for the Happy Cup groups has taken place, and all details will appear on a separate thread very soon.

We are just about at the half-way stage for Champions League qualification, and with BFG qualifying as holder, the other qualifying spots will go to the eleven highest scorers over the two divisions after Week 21. That eleventh spot in currently being held by eagledares with his 50 points. Just edging out basher2010 on the 3 pointer rule. But with 10 members within 6 points of that total, it is still all to play for.

THE TABLES (78 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
