Happy League 2021/22 - The Final tables. 00:34 - Apr 24 with 741 viewsmfb_cufc

Week 38 results

LEICESTER CITY 0 ASTON VILLA 0

Villa ended a four-game losing run with this bore draw in which both sides struggled to provide moments of quality in a scrappy end-of-season game. Nobody got this spot-on, but 6 did have the outcome. 21 predicted a win for Leicester with 12 going for a 2-1 in what was the weeks most predicted score.

NORWICH CITY 0 NEWCASTLE UNITED 3
Joelinton marked his 100th Premier League appearance with two goals as Newcastle moved up to ninth and sent Norwich closer to relegation. Well done to sevebalo for being the only one to have this spot-on, and a further 21 got the outcome.

AFC BOURNEMOUTH 1 FULHAM 1
Dominic Solanke's 98th-minute penalty snatched a point for Bournemouth in this draw against Championship leaders Fulham. That late goal was good news for the 3 who got this spot-on, and another 6 who had the outcome

DERBY COUNTY 1 BRISTOL CITY 3
Andreas Weimann scored his 20th goal of the season as City beat relegated Derby. Nobody had this spot-on, though 4 did get the outcome. 18 predicted a win for Derby.

STOKE CITY 1 QUEENS PARK RANGERS 0
Jacob Brown's strike lifted Stoke into the top half of the table and effectively killed off Rangers' faint play-off hopes. A massive 10 got this spot-on, and 10 also had the outcome.

ACCRINGTON STANLEY 2 LINCOLN CITY 1
10-man Accrington comfortably hung on for the victory. The Lincoln goal in the 93rd minute almost made a big differnce to the Division One promotion. A great 8 had this spot-on, and another 12 got the outcome.

FLEETWOOD TOWN 1 AFC WIMBLEDON 1
Joe Garner scored an 88th minute equaliser as Fleetwood snatched a draw that means Wimbledon are still waiting for a first win in 2022, and now face certain relegation. That late goal was good news for the 4 who got this spot-on, and the one who had the outcome. 21 predicted a win for Fleetwood.

BRISTOL ROVERS 0 FOREST GREEN ROVERS 0
Forest Green have been promoted to League One for the first time in their history, following this bore draw. Another game with no 3 pointer, but 4 did get the outcome.

LEYTON ORIENT 2 NORTHAMPTON TOWN 4
Northampton moved into the automatic promotion places with this comfortable win against 10-man Orient. A final game with no 3 pointer this week, though 19 did have the outcome.

OLDHAM ATHLETIC 1 SALFORD CITY 2
Oldham have been relegated from the English Football League for the first time after this defeat in a game interrupted by a supporters' on-pitch protest against the club's owners. It ends 116 years of league football for the Boundary Park club, and also means they are the first former Premier League team to drop into non-league since its creation in 1992. A decent 6 had this spot-on, and a further 12 got the outcome.

After two seasons of being interrupted by Covid, it was good to have a season that was almost pandemic free. We went into the final week of the seaon with a number of issues stil to be decided, especially in the Division One promotion. It turned out to be a similar one to last week, with four games having no 3 pointer, but the other six making up for it by achieving a total of 32. They helped to get seven members double-figure scores, with two of them producing a final twist to events in Division One, after what was probably one of the most exciting leagues in Happy League history. But the weeks top performance came from a member trying to avoid going into Division One, that was Daniel, who had an outstanding four 3 pointers, the wins for Stoke and Accrington, and the draws at Bournemouth and Fleetwood. He also got three outcomes to give him an absolutely brilliant 15 points. Two members did well to get three 3 pointers, they were bwildered who had the 2-1 wins for Accrington and Salford with the Fleetwood 1-1, and three outcomes to give him an excellent 12 points. Also thrillseeker who got the wins for Stoke, Accrington and Salford, and two outcomes to give him an excellent 11 points. Seven members got two 3 pointers, the best of which came from blueeagle who had the 2-1 wins for Accrington and Salford, and durham_exile who got the draws at Bournemouth and Fleetwood. They both also had an impressive six outcomes to give them an excellent 12 points each.

In the Premier With the top two both getting 8 points, it is congratulations to concordman on being Champion in his first Premier season. After fighting relegation for the first 21 weeks, a tremdous run, that started by getting 13 points in Week 22, finally took him to the top for the final four weeks. After just avoiding relegaton last seaon, TheFatGooner really turned things around, and had the lead for 14 weeks during the season, but finally finished an honourable runner-up. An excellent season for RSCOSWORTH, that ended with another double-figure score. He held the lead for a decent 18 weeks, but had to settle for a third place finish. Another to spend a good part of the season fighting relegation was ghughes11, until 13 points in Week 25 moved him into the top half, and that is where he stayed, finally securing the final Super Cup spot. After spending most of the season avoiding relegation, a good finish from noah4x4 got him to wthin a point of a Super Cup place in fifth. A solid first season in the Premier for unitedwhites, that was spent almost entirely in the top half, ended with a credible sixth place finish. He went into the final week still fighting relegation, but that brilliant week for Daniel moved him up a couple of places, to finish seventh, and made sure his stay in the Premier lasted more than one season. A promising first-half to the season for mfb_cufc, that him lying second after Week 16, ended in a disappointing eighth place It was a season spent almost entirely in the bottom half for Sector4, but never in the relegation places, and that is how he finished in ninth. It was a bright start to the season for sevebalo, as he had the lead for the first three weeks, and he remained in the top half until Week 16. But a gradual decline since finally saw him relegated. With a top four finish four times in the previous seven seasons, he has what it takes for an instant return. After being a close runner-up last season, it is a surprise to see basher2010 being relegated, not helped by a couple of missed weeks late on. After only just avoiding relegation last season, Blue4U2 spent the whole of this season, bar one week, in the bottom three, and is relegated after two seasons in the Premier.

In Division One In a season where the lead changed hands 17 times, and had 10 different leaders, it is no surprise the lead changed for an 18th time. Due to his Premier exploits thrillseeker was favourite for a quick return, after his surprise relegation. For most of the season, even a play-off spot looked remote, then after getting the season best score of 16 in Week 25, he never looked back, and the excellent final week moved him back to the top. Congratulations to him on being Champion. Also congratulations to blueeagle who moved back to the other automatic place, after his excellent final week. After making the play-offs for the last three seasons, that was due reward for his consistency. Unfortunate for last weeks top two, BFG and wessex_exile, but with things so tight at the top, some members were going to be disappointed. They will now rely on the play-offs for promotion. They will be joined by Tropical_Us and burnsieespana, who remained fifth and sixth. If the season had lasted another week bwildered could have made the play-offs. After he struggled to start with in his first season, he has made big improvements through the season, and another excellent final week left him only 2 points short in seventh. Lewis_1 held the lead on three separate occasions, and spent most of the season in the top 6, but had to settle for eighth for the second season running. Another to spemnd most of the season in the top 6 was gerry_us, but it was a ninth place finish for him in the end. Highlight of the season for MrHappy2 was leading after Week 6, but spent most of the season out of the top 6, and finished tenth. durham_exile had the lead after Week 3, but after dropping to 10th in Week 4, that was the highest he got for the rest of the season. An excellent final week moved him up to eleventh. After leading for the second time in Week 24, things were looking good for Pinault_Noir, but he faded from thereon, and finished twelth. medicine_man had the lead on two separate occasions, and had 3 pointers to match the best of them, but a lack of outcomes held him back, and he finished thirteenth. A change of name for Madeira163, but not a change of luck, even though he improved on last season, by finishing two places above the wooden spoon in fourteenth. It was a seson that never got going for GOSBTS, with the highlight being the one week he had in the top 6 in Week 13. A play-off place two seasons ago shows what he is capable of. He just avoided the wooden spoon, as two double-figure scores to finish the season, from oxfcolu, almost pulled off a great escape.
