Bournemouth marked their return to the Premier League with a confident opening-weekend victory. Nobody got this spot-on, but 5 did have the outcome.
LEEDS UNITED 2 WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS 1
Leeds came from behind to get their season off to good start. A great 8 had this spot-on, and 8 also got the outcome.
NEWCASTLE UNITED 2 NOTTINGHAM FOREST 0
A Fabian Schar wonder goal and Callum Wilson's deft finish broke newly promoted Forest's stubborn resistance as Newcastle opened their Premier League campaign with a deserved victory. A massive 10 got this spot-on, in what was the weeks most predicted score, and a further 16 had the ouitcome.
BRISTOL CITY 2 SUNDERLAND 3
Debutant Ellis Simms scored twice as Sunderland came from 2-1 down to beat City, and give them their first win in the Championship since the last day of the 2017-18 season. Nobody had this spot-on, though 7 did get the outcome.
CHARLTON ATHLETIC 1 DERBY COUNTY 0
Corey Blackett-Taylor scored the only goal as Charlton beat a profligate Derby and stay unbeaten after two matches. Only 2 got this spot-on, and another 7 had the outcome.
HARTLEPOOL UNITED 0 AFC WIMBLEDON 0
Hartlepool recovered from their opening day thrashing at Walsall to get this bore draw. Well done to the brave 2 who had this spot-on, and one more got the outcome.
Another mixed bag of results to start the season, but thanks to the wins for Leeds and Newcastle, they did produce a decent 22 spot-ons, with Division One coming out well on top, by winning that particular contest 16-6. Not surprisingly it was a member from that league who was the weeks top scorer, with GOSBTS having the Charlton 1-0 and that good Hartlepool 0-0 spot-on, and the Newcastle and Sunderland outcomes, to give him a very decent 8 points. There were three members who got the Leeds and Newcastle results spot-on, with the best performance coming from wessex_exile and gerry_us, who also both had the Sunderland outcome, to give them a decent 7 points. In fact, amazingly they both predicted the same six scores. The other member to have the Newcastle, Leeds double was bwildered, to give him a solid 6 points. One other member got two 3 pointers, that was Pinault_Noir, who got the Newcastle 2-0 and the good Hartlepool 0-0, to also give him a solid 6 points. Best of those to get one 3 pointer was MrHappy2, who had the Newcastle 2-0, and three outcomes, and burnsieespana by going 2-1 all games, to give them both a solid 6 points.
In the Premier After losing out on top spot last week, due to the first to post rule, another decent score has given wessex_exile a clear lead this week. Up two places into second is thrillseeker, after getting the Leeds 2-1 spot-on, as they set the early pace, following their promotion last season. Two outcomes for last weeks leader noah4x4, means he drops to third. Two outcomes also for ghughes11, as he clings onto the final Super Cup place, on the most 3 pointer rule from Daniel and mfb_cufc, who both move up a couple of places. A first 3 pointer this season for unitedwhites with the Leeds 2-1, as he is sandwiched between concordman and TheFatGooner, as the next three places are decided on the first to post rule. A first 3 pointer also for Sector4, the Newcastle 2-0, but he remains in the bottom 3, along with blueeagle and RSCOSWORTH, who are the only ones still waiting for their first 3 pointer in this division.
In Division One A solid week for MrHappy2 keeps him top for the second week running, once again on the first to post rule. This time it is GOSBTS who occupies the other automatic spot, after his very decent week moves him up a couple of places. Despite getting the Newcastle 2-0 spot-on, basher2010 drops a place to third. A bright start to the season for oxfcolu, that included having the Leeds 2-1 spot-on this week, moves him up a place to fourth. Also moving up a place to fifth after getting the Leeds 2-1 spot-on is sevebalo. The solid week for burnsieespana also moves him up a place into the final play-off spot. Considering this is only the second week, five of the last weeks top six remained in the play-off places. Just missing out a point further back are Pinault_Noir and bwildered, after their good weeks. After missing the break last week, a decent one this week, has moved gerry_us up into the middle of the pack, just two points from the play-offs.
