Colchester will not hedge their bets at Privett Park this weekend 15:58 - Nov 7 with 402 viewsdurham_exile

TH, after the disappointment of the PV game, looks to end a run of 7 consecutive defeats in all Cup competitions.

In truth we will not have a better chance of securing a place in Round Two and I expect a comfortable 4-0 win for the Super U's on Sunday against Gosport Borough.

Clearly even the BBC don't sense a possible upset, because we will not see the famous blue and white stripes in live FA Cup action. A pity, but I would rather save the cameras for a third round home match versus a Premier League team.

TH also has Rhys Healey unavailable because Cardiff don't want him cup tied. Unfortunate because the Blue birds are no great shakes this season and will probably go out in Round Three anyway.

Still George Moncur has been allowed to play by West Ham, which suggests that we could sign him in January, the midfield star has been playing very well recently.

Young Hewitt has returned to Piswich and so the team will benefit from Clohessy returning to right back with Gordon playing at left back. The difficulty is in midfield where we have an embarrassment of riches with Watt, Gilbey, Fox, Massey, Eastmond, Moncur all capable of playing.

I expect young Roofe to partner Freddie Sears in a 4,4,2 formation

Walker

Clohessy Magnus Eastman Gordon

Watt Gilbey Fox Massey

Sears Roofe

Subs:

Lewington, Kent, Bonne, Moncur, Szmodics, Lawrence, Eastmond

Safe journey to the travelling 500 and it will be great to be in the hat for Round Two.

Thoroughly entertaining half.

U's deservedly well placed at 4-1 but they should have never have conceded a goal.

14 mins Watt hit the post and the ball fell nicely for Massey who scored powerfully.

21 mins Sears assisted and then Watt scored at the far post.

26 mins Sears was brought down inside the penalty area and although Gilbey "scored" the game was brought back for the penalty to be taken which Sears scored. Brett Pope could have been sent off but the ref only issued a yellow card.

Fox has had a poor half and he scored an own goal after some poor defending on 39 mins.

The three goal margin was restored by a brilliant run by Gilbey from midfield after 45 plus 1 min.

HT 4-1 to the Super U's
