RamZone Christmas Countdown - 10 Cracking Goals!
RamZone Christmas Countdown - 10 Cracking Goals!
Thursday, 16th Dec 2010 06:27 by Daniel J Sewart

Our Christmas countdown reaches its last day of double digits with the top 10 strikes by Rams players as voted by the fans.

As we touched on yesterday with the ‘All Time’ Rams starting 11, as part of the 125 year celebrations of DCFC last year, the club invited fans to vote on their favourite Derby goals.

The list was heavily populated by goals scored in recent years but does not take away from the fact that each and ever one of them was a strike of the highest quality.

Steve Bloomer was probably the most unlucky not to make the list being the Rams all time goal scorer. It could be attributed to the fact the BBC or Sky rarely seemed to cover Rams games back then plus his fans were deafeningly quiet when it came to voting (you’re fired – ed.).

BBC Radio Derby produced a fabulous program about the top 10 goals featuring commentary, memories and interviews. If nothing else, the comments about Robbie Savage and Kris Commons are interesting in hindsight, a lot can change in a season.

I can highly recommend the program which can still be heard online by following the link below:
