Goodall offered new deal
Goodall offered new deal
Friday, 21st Jan 2011 18:14 by Col

Dale full back Alan Goodall has been offered a new contract by the club.

The full back had spent the past few months on loan at Newport County, but an injury crisis at Spotland has seen him return to first team action with Dale, and he has impressed enough in the past couple of games to be offered a new deal.

The deal is similar to his last one in length and will, if accepted, keep him at the club until the end of the season. He had been offered a deal whilst at Newport by their then manager Dean Holdsworth, but the distance from his Merseyside home was considered to be too far.

Goodall is likely to be back on the bench this weekend, with Scott Wiseman returning from a three match ban.

When he went on loan to Newport I thought we'd seen the last of him. Performances in the last two games however mean he is worthy of a new contract offer though. Hope he takes it and stays - good squad member.

Agreed.. He has done a good job in the absence of Scott Wiseman.
He won't be a first-choicer but will make a good replacement in the case of injuries and suspensions etc.

Has he signed it yet? There hasn't been any news about it.
