We kick off our build up for the trip to Grimsby this weekend by looking at the referee for this game - Craig Pawson of Sheffield.

As is the normal case at this stage of the season, we get one of the first year referees at our early fixtures.

However, we have seen Mr Pawson quite recently as he refereed the friendly match with Stockport two weeks ago.

He was also one of the linesmen (or assistants) for last season’s Carling Cup tie against Norwich.

Craig ended last term as the top rated referee in the Conference, an accolade that was marked by him taking charge of the play-off final between Exeter and Cambridge.
