PREVIEW
Last week's 2-0 prediction of a Swans defeat couldn't have been more off really. Phillips, Sidebe and Watkin gave us a deserved 3-1 win at Macclesfield which should lead to a good crowd on Saturday together with a buzzing atmosphere.
The old cliche will always say that the league campaign is a marathon rather than a sprint but it would be a nice feeling if we had 6 points on the board come Saturday.
I can't see John Hollins making any changes to his starting line-up from Saturday, and in fairness why should he? Jason Smith we are told is probably still a fortnight away from coming back into the team so O'Leary and Todd have another couple of chances to stamp their names in central defence.
Oxford started the new season badly last week, losing in their new stadium to Rochdale but with Mark Wright in charge, they will not need to be reminded of that too often! They also have a certain Martin Thomas is the middle of their midfield and he will have something to prove to John Hollins, but we have to hope that he can prove it without leaving the Vetch on the winning side.
The big crowd and the confidence that seems to have followed last week's win will ensure that this time I think Swansea will walk away with the three points. Swansea 2 Oxford 1.
If we lose this one then I am predicting a defeat every week from now on!! |
