Saints At Yeovil The Preview
Saints At Yeovil The Preview

It seems lucky to mention the phrase last chance saloon so I will !

Saints will run out at Yeovil knowing whether a play off spot is within their grasp or if the pendulum has still not swung far enough yet, usually Hudderfield V Millwall wouldnt fire up many to watch in these parts, but Sky can certainly expect a big chunk of viewing figuresin Hampshire tonight.

It doesnt need much explaining that a Huddersfield win will make Saints target of sixth place hard, not impossible but hard, anything other than a win and its game on.

This being the case Alan Pardew will not be able to plan his motivational pre match pep talk till 10pm tonight, if Huddersfield win it will be one of keeping on going and hoping for the best, if they draw or lose then he should need little motivation for the team, the Holy Grail is almost within sight, however we all know how close Indiana Jones came to finding that.

I wouldnt expect too much deviation from the starting line up at Bristol on Tuesday with Pardew starting with his favoured 4-5-1 and keeping a lot of firepower on the bench, to be blunt there isnt another team in the division who have the class, quality and indeed variation of having Barnard, Connolly and Waigo all at your disposal should you need to look for goals.

Although I still dont like the 4-5-1 in that I feel that sometimes it shows a little too much respect to teams, it does have its advantages when used properly in that in its current formation it has three good attacking flair players in Lallana, Puncheon & Antonio in midfield and we will look to run at Yeovil as we did Rovers.

Once again there is only one result that will do for Saints and with our superior goal difference it doesnt matter how many it is as long as its three points.

Saints are starting to build up a head of steam though as they bid to make it four league wins in a row and indeed seven out of eight since the defeat to Swindon, this is the time to hit form and Huddersfield and Colchester know it, but they also know they arent in form themselves, Saints need to fear no one, they need to put Yeovil to the sword as they did to Rovers.
