Jake Jervis is set for his second Pompey debut after finally receiving international clearance. He is in the squad to face Mansfield at Fratton Park after getting the green light a week after joining the Blues.

Provided the match survives the threat of further rain, Jervis is expected to start as he looks to add to the three appearances and one goal he managed in a brief loan spell at Pompey last season.

Pompey boss Richie Barker told the club website: 'It’s taken a while, but we have finally got there and now Jake is desperate just to get out on the pitch and play.'

Meanwhile Barker has spoken of the importance of Pompey's remaining home games as he looks to guide the team away from the wrong end of the League Two table.

He told The News: ‘Ultimately, I think our home results will decide where we finish,’ said Barker. We’ve got some tough away games coming up — places like Fleetwood, Chesterfield and Scunthorpe. The points we can get up there will be bonus points really, without being too negative.

‘They will be points that would be great but I think the home games will probably dictate most where we end up. There were some positives at Oxford and there were also some negatives which we needed to work on and have done throughout the week.'
