Qatar World Cup a success ? 17:58 - Dec 13 with 1322 viewstrampie

Still a few days to go but it is looking like the Qatar World cup is going to be a big success with women, children and families all in the main feeling safe and having a good time.

The press over here tried doing a number on the Qataris with their negative coverage but it's beginning to look like racism against Muslims and Arabs, I was talking to a boy in work last week and his mother had been out to the World cup (judging by his age his mother must be middle aged) and she thought it was great and that it was nothing like it was portrayed in the Western press, she was told don't wear skirts only trousers, nothing above the knee etc but apparently it was all balls, she found the people to be nice and had no problems out there at all

Trying too hard now.

You might as well go the whole hog and rename yourself Controversial_Tramps.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I read a piece by a professor of middle East studies or something, he had a very Welsh name not that means anything, anyway he seemed to be saying the same thing and he is an expert used by the broadsheets over here and in the State's and on national TV stations when they want the low down on the Middle East

It seems like on a football and fan level it ended up a successful World cup.

In some ways you are right.
We are in a society where alcohol is inextricably linked with sport and getting ratrsed part of the fun.
Look at how many of our fans enjoy the drink

Women would have felt safe because Qatar society treats women differently,ie,under control of the male . Yiu might like that
However ,their modest dress seems light years away from ours which sees females out on our streets in gutters vomiting over barely covered skin .

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not
