Reduced by 4 points to 6. Can't surely have them get relegated rather than little old Luton. What a joke.

Good thing is it pulls Brentford down a little further.

They are facing a second points deduction for this season so may well end up getting a 12 point hit this season.
Forest bang in trouble now as well if a 6 points deduction is the norm

This will be about Citeh really, so when they appeal against relegation, it will be reduced to -30 pts. They cannot win anything in that season but still stay up for the season after. Same with the Scum.

It's not about Everton it's about the others. Florist will be upset at this now, as if Luton win a couple they are in trouble.

It's utter nonsense that these points deductions are being applied and amended mid season. Should be done prior to the start of the season, and should not be changed after that point.

We know from our appeal that courts take the view that it's the Prem/EFL's competition, so they can do what they like, so why they can't dictate that all clubs have a business year that ends, let's say 5 April, and that results for that year are complete by, let's say 30 Jun, so that any punishment may be applied before the start of the next season. No results released by then, max points deduction automatically applied.

The current system is open to all sorts of abuse, and is unfair on other clubs which are complying with the rules. I suspect though, it will take a club to actually sue the ruling body/ies to ever get this changed. Why the f@ck Luton now, and Wycombe before them should be treated in this way is unfathomable, it's discriminatory at the very least.

I really feel that Luton are far more worthy of staying up rather than Everton and Forrest, or even Brentford.

Never knowingly right.

Yes agree it’s all utter nonsense highlighted by the PL stating that when they dish out their punishment to Everton again and Forrest soon and the outcome of any appeal will be announced no later than a week after the season has finished..When the new regulator is appointed for next season the top rich clubs will be able to lose as much as they like as long it is guaranteed in a sort of escrow account.Might as well dump the whole FFP charade.
The Premier league is just a place clubs like Brentford Luton Bournmouth and many others to visit for a short time and most of their fans prefer the championship.

Forest broke the rules knowingly but it worked they went up.

Second season and a small points dedcution could have little effect and will still get parachute payments if they went down so financially themselves breaking the rules and managing two or three seasons in the premiership would have made the rule breaking a risk well taken even if they are correctly punished.

Stupid system that has no real set punishments and the timings of changes make the whole situation farcical !!!

Yes totally agree it’s a farce get 10 points then reduced to 6 during the season. Ridiculous for other clubs. Give the deduction at start of the season no change that’s it. Sometimes think would have been better if we had 6 points deduction instead of the huge fine we are still playing. Unsurprisingly the big clubs City the scum flout the laws and get away with it.

There is a lot of noise about the rule breaking by City and Chelsea and the rule breaking by City so am led to believe the number of transgressions is in three figures.

These rumours whether true or not have been.bandied around for a year or so, so why has nothing been done.

Should be done immediately.

Or are they not going to be doing anything at all.

If City have transgressed more than 100 occasions in comparison to others, it's on a par with Glasgow Rangers who got relegated down about six leagues.

City and Chelsea could then be regular competitors at Wembley finals still. FA Vase !!!!

Issue a club with a 10 point deduction and then reduce It to a six point deduction.

What the hell Is the point In that FFS?

Just issue a six point deduction at the start of the season and say 'deal with It'

Or stick the point deductions up your arse and f uck off and do something useful and Is beneficial to football.

As with any forum with the power to issue sanctions, a right of appeal is part of the process of natural justice.

Thus, for me, the questions are: What rule(s) did Everton break? What were the penalties for breaking those rules? Were they known? Was the decion finding Everton guilty fair? Was the penalty appropriate for the rule(s) broken, and in line with those handed down to other clubs? If the penalties were appropriate, why and on what basis have they been reduced?

Reading got a double points deduction last season if I recall correctly. No idea if they appealed, or if their breach and treatment the same. However, I have zero confidence that our authorities are not acting with their eyes elsewhere, and even less confident that they would do what the Italian authorities did a few years back to Juventus, and really throw the book at a top club for serious breaches of the rules, and relegate several leagues.

Fcuk 'em!

Even though their fans try and make out it isn't hence the massive fuss they made when Gerrard won the SPL with them and their fans kept going on about 'number 53' or whatever it was.

I see Nottingham Forest are having their hearing next week and are being represented by our very own Nick de Marco. It could be a very messy end of the season if Forest get a points deduction or Everton get a further deduction and are relegated.

Juve never got that much of a punishment, originally it was 2 leagues and a huge points deduction with risk of a third relegation, eventually reduced to just one year in Serie B with a 9 point deduction and they still won the league by miles and went straight back to Serie A.

Chelsea haven't breached the rules yet as they get good prize money from Europe, sold a lot of players for big money, high league finishes etc although that may well change soon as they've been crap for 18 months

Good clarification.

However, do we have any confidence that the English authorities will drop City and/or Chelsea and hand down similar or harsher punishments if found guilty?

If they were so relegated, then I wonder how FFP would impact them. Surely a season in the Championship with its financial impact would fcuk em up at some stage?

Either way: I remain to be surprised if found guilty, that the book will be thrown at them.

Fair play to Brentford.
How many clubs would stand by a manager that has seen his team win 2 draw 1 and lose14 of their last 17 matches
Quite remarkable in this world of hire and fire.
Let's hope the Bees pick up 3 points on Saturday!

They look good enough to stay up and probably will. They also stuck with the manager when he had a very bad start after joining them.
