For the first time this season I felt we had some luck. Shrewsbury are a good side who were on top for the first half in which we rode our luck. We were somewhat lucky, in my opinion, to go in level at half time.
The start to the second half showed greater determination and an ability to find a teammate with a pass. We missed some 'easy' chances. Shrewsbury were unlucky to hit the bar.
Davies scored a quality finish and then the moment that had most fans doing a 20p 50p sphincter muscle movement. Personally I thought the referee had the right to give it but will agree withe linesman. The ball was clearly won when heading the ball but the attacker also appeared to be taken out.
The expletives I was shouting at the initial decision are not repeatable and the ones I was shouting in relief when the decision was overturned. Fair play to the ref for listening to his assistant. The following corner and goal could be the turning point of the season.
My club was broken, my club was broken Sorrow Sorrow Sorrow Sorrow My club was broken, my club was broken You saw it, You claimed it You touched it, You saved it My team was dying, my team are dying Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you My team was dying, my team was dying Your beauty and baldness Made tears clear my blindness While I'm worth my room on this earth I will follow you While the Chief, is a bald man called Keith I'll thank him for his work And your birth and my birth.
As there is lots of talk of possible administration for several teams it is clear the current punishment is not severe enough to deter cheating of the rules.
Personally I think the team should face automatic relegation from the division they would start next season in.
If they finish bottom of league 1 the should not be allowed to go down to league two and start afresh. They should go down to the conference or whatever it's called. Only a severe punishment will stop get rich charlatans and glory seekers
OK folks I've entered the Manchester marathon and I'll be running my first marathon for Cancer research. More details will follow but if you can sponsor me in the future please do.
Unfortunately I can no longer attend every Dale home game after moving away from the area. However on Saturday I was visited by my brother-in-law who is an Oldham fan. He bought he tickets and I went as a neutral to watch the game.
Point number one - it was sh!te. Neither team could pass water never mind a ball.
Point two - the Oldham fans are not a happy bunch (however such arguments in the Sandy would have resulted in fisty cuffs)
Point three - Steve Eyre style management sprang to mind.
Point four - I wasted two hours of my life
In summary from what I saw two relegation places have already been booked.
Hello anyone who reads this. In September I'm doing the Great North Run half marathon and I'm raising money for the RNLI. I'm doing it to fulfill a promise I made to my dying Dad 2 years ago.
I've done the Manchester 10k and am doing that again for cancer research,
If anyone can afford the odd few quid all would be welcome
At times the standard of referees who visit lower division grounds is dire. The referee yesterday was not dire he was bizarre.
Some of his decisions were beyond belief and both sets of fans could feel aggrieved. There were several incidents which saw players from either team discussing what the referee had given. The only thing the referee was good at was being inconsistent.
