Leave the M4 at junction 33 and take the A4232 towards Cardiff/Barry. Leave the dual carriageway at the B4267 exit, signposted Cardiff Leckwith Athletics Stadium. Ninian Park and the new stadium both appear on the right. It is about 150 miles from Loftus Road. Map:
Click link to visit Multi Map site and zoom in/out or tour round Parking: This part of Cardiff used to be swimming in parking spaces prior to the construction of the new stadium and adjoining retail park. The retail park limits cars to 90 minute stays and is strictly policed, surrounding roads have residents only schemes operating on Saturdays and although there is a small pen for about 200 cars next to the away end this is likely to be mostly filled by the five coaches making the trip. You may find yourself heading further afield looking for street parking. By Train Great Western Trains from Paddington direct to Cardiff Central for this one, with options limited somewhat by he 12.45pm kick off. Direct trains there leave at 45 minutes past the hour, coming back they leave at 25 past from Cardiff with a journey time of just over two hours. An off peak day return (turn up and buy on the day) is £64. From the station you may want to get a bus or a taxi from right outside, chance your arm on the local stopping service to Ninian Park which is right by the new ground but has been a problem for away fans in the past, or walk and to be honest despite all the guides making it out to be miles it’s really not. I would say 25 minutes tops – come out of the station across the bus station and then basically go left over the river bridge by the Millenium Stadium and follow that long straight road past the Chinese takeaways, across the first crossroads and then straight down a long line of terraced houses. Eventually that road forks and both Ninian Park station and the old stadium should be visible on your left. Follow the left fork round, under the railway bridge and the new ground should appear on your left. By Coach: There are five coaches running to this game, although they are no almost completely booked up. The official coach leaves Loftus Road at 7.30am and the Target Roundabout at 8am but is sold out. The LSA is running three coaches from the Springbok, these are also now sold out. A handfull (ten on Tuesday) of seats remained on Mel's three coaches from Northolt, he can be contacted through the LFW message board. Pubs: An early kick off and the police no doubt on hyper-alert means your options may be few and far between. The guide recommends the Lansdowne and The Cornwall Hotel round the ground but I've never had the pleasure myself so I wouldn't be comfortable recommending them personally in a place where it can get a bit tasty when QPR visit. There's a massive Weatherspoons set in an old theatre by the station called the Prince of Wales. It’s standard Wethersoons stuff in there (absolutely filthy, disgusting food, but cheap drinks) and there's plenty of room. Most of the pubs round the station in the centre of town seem ok. Our resident Cardiff expert Dai Hoops says: ”Would not recommend The Cornwall, but the Landsdowne is ok for away fans who behave.” Tickets: All four of QPR's remaining games are completely sold out. Rangers were given just oer 1,800 tickets for this fixture.
