Whilst Brian Flynn has to cope with the disappointment of the calling off of the Swans Cup tie in York, the long trip North we hear did not prove to be a wasted one as agreement was reached with Leeds United for the loan of one of their players. |
En route to Bootham crescent on Friday, Swansea stopped off for a training session at the Premiership Club's facilities and it was there that Flynn was able to tie up a deal with former Leeds colleague Eddie Gray for the loaning of a reserve team forward. |
The name of this forward is being kept under wraps at the moment but a look at the official Leeds United web-site narrows down the options slightly. We are told that the player is a 19-year old forward and Jamie McMaster seems to be the only option that I can see on the official site. Jamie has made 2 substitue appearances for Leeds this season but find's first team opportunities blocked by the likes of Harry Kewell, Alan Smith and Lee Bowyer. He has recently signed a contract to keep him at Elland Road until 2005. As mentioned, the name is not confirmed but this is someone that is clearly highly thought of at Elland Road and bringing him down to the Vetch could well prove dividends? |
Australian by birth, Jamie has opted for England as his international side - he was also eligible for Scotland. |
We understand that the unveiling of the new signing from Leeds should take place early next week and then we can confirm exactly who the player is and how he will fit into the squad as we battle out at the bottom end of the football league. |
Only time will tell on the name but as the headline suggests, it wasn't such a wasted trip for Flynn after all! |
