This time tomorrow Scott Sinclair could have made his England Under-21 debut

Sinclair scored his 12th Swansea City goal of the season at the weekend - form which has persuaded Stuart Pearce to call him up for Under-21 duty and he could find himself in the thick of the action this evening.

Sinclair met up with the rest of the squad after Sunday's game and flew out to Germany yesterday afternoon hopeful that his debut was just around the corner.

“Playing every week I am getting more confident as the games go on and hopefully I can take that into the international stage,” Sinclair told the Western mail

“I’m really delighted with the call-up. It’s an honour to play for your country.

“To get into any international age group – under-18s, 19s or 21s – is a massive honour for any player and I’m really excited about it.

“It’s also an honour for Swansea and everyone can see the way we play football is really paying off.

“The manager brought me in and has given me loads of confidence

“He has a lot of faith in me. You can see from the way I am playing on the pitch the manager is really getting the best out of me.

“Since I was 16 at Chelsea and playing as a striker he’s helped me.

“He has got me as a winger now and you can see the confidence in my game – that’s down to the manager.

“We’ve got to keep chasing, keep winning games and moving up the table,” added Sinclair.

“There was definitely more pressure after the defeat to Bristol City.

“When you lose your last game you have to make sure you follow it up with a win – we’ve done that and hopefully we can kick on and keep winning games.

“Winning the Cardiff game took a lot out of everyone and then going into the next game so quickly the boys were not on it mentally.

“It was a great result against Boro, thankfully we got the goal before the end and we are happy with the three points.

“We are always trying to push at home to get the win.

“You can see in the way we pass the ball around we are always trying to nick a goal.

“I’m always happy to score and I was pleased to get my 12th of the season, but more importantly we got the three points.”
