Ashley Williams says he is unconcerned at rumours currently linking him to a host of Premier League clubs

Williams has this week been again linked with a move away from the Liberty Stadium but also looks set to sign a new deal that will extend his contract at the club.

And ever the true pro, the Wales captain is concentrating on the job in hand starting this afternoon at Doncaster.

“It’s always nice to hear your name mentioned, it shows you are doing things the right way" he told the Western Mail

“Someone told me about the rumours and I had a look. It’s always nice to be making good headlines but I don’t know where it came from and I haven’t heard anything.

“I’ve had this a few times in my career with Swansea.

“I don’t take any notice of it I just concentrate on getting on with my job.

“If I was a manager in the Premier League I would definitely be coming down to check us out,” said Williams.

“People have stepped up this season and it’s been a bit like having some new players, that’s all down to the gaffer.

“Everyone knows about us now and we have shown what we’ve got over the last couple of years.

“This team gives you the platform to perform.

“Monks and Tate are obviously a big loss but the great thing about the squad now is we’ve got good players who can come in.

“Taylor’s been a different class for us and Albert’s worked very hard and been patient for his chance.

“I’ve played with them both quite a bit so I’ve got no worries with those two coming into the side.

“We are in the middle of a really good run away from home and we want to keep that going.

“It is almost a little easier away from home because teams are trying to win the game not just defend like at the Liberty.

“It’s a credit to the way we both play,” said Swansea’s Williams.

“Sometimes when you can’t go out and buy the biggest and best players you have to do something a bit different.

“When you come up from League One it’s a brave move to then try and keep playing football, many teams change their style to survive.

“They’ve got some really good footballers there who know how to play.

“Brian is probably one of the best midfielders in this league.

“He is someone who can control a game and has been the heart and soul of Doncaster over the last few years, he really makes things tick from the middle.

“He’s got a lot of qualities, his passing and his reading of the game.

“David Healy is a top-class striker and it will be a difficult game for us.

“Doncaster are a nice team to watch and will try to play the game the same way as us.

“They are always good games and ones I enjoy playing in.

“It’s never a boring game. We are always pitched as two of the best footballing sides in the league."
