Pompey act after Chesterfield switch sparks complaints
Pompey act after Chesterfield switch sparks complaints

Pompey will try to reimburse fans who can prove the Sky TV switch of their game at Chesterfield to Monday night has left them out of pocket.

Some supporters have hit out at the alternative date for the game - now on Monday, March 3 - saying they had already made plans to travel up on the Saturday.

Now the Blues have taken the unusual step of asking fans affected to get in touch.

Chief executive Mark Catlin said on the club website: 'The fact the match is being televised is good news for the club. Not only do we earn a fee, but also many thousands of Pompey fans, who otherwise wouldn't have been able to see the game, will now be able to do so.

'However, following dialogue with the Pompey Supporters’ Trust and monitoring the club's official social media channels, we are aware that a number of fans are potentially out of pocket, having already made committing travel arrangements.

'We would ask those fans who feel they have a valid claim for expenses they can't recover any other way to contact the club, providing supporting documentation, and we will look at what we can do to help.'
