Saints Inquire About Liverpool Striker Tuesday, 26th Jun 2018 23:50 According to latest reports, this time from the Daily Star Saints have joined Tottenham in contacting Liverpool about Danny Ings.
Saints have been linked with Southampton born Danny Ings before,in the summer of 2015 they tried to sign him from Burnley but the call of Liverpool was too much and he opted to move to Anfield instead.
Things didn't go well for him there and he was injured in training and missed the rest of the season, he returned but early in the following season he again picked up a serious injury .
So in his three seasons with Liverpool he has only played 14 Premier League games, basically at the start and the end of his tenure, although he has hit three goals, including one in a 2-2 draw at West Brom at the end of the 2017/18 season showing he still has an eye for goal.
Now it seems his career at Anfield is coming to an end with Liverpool adding to their attacking options this summer which will put him further down the pecking order.
But Saints and indeed Spurs will also face opposition from Crystal Palace and Ing's old club Burnley for his signature.
But Saints will hope that the lure of returning to his home town club will appeal to Ing's above Palace and indeed Spurs who would not perhaps offer him the game time he would get at St Mary's, however the attraction of a move back to Burnley and Europa League football might trump all the offers.

What the he'll are you doing Ugly inside? Even printing this rubbish? It's cleanly totally untrue! All you are doing is underminding your own integrity as a media outlet of interest to all saint fans! Danny ings is clearly a champtionship player at best! And merely linking him to us because he's born here, is in fact insulting! to players like Sam G. of I could be gulity of taking The Ulgy inside publication for Saint fans or one circulated nonsense? You might be wrong about that Arthur - the management may well "enquire" (seek information about) this player but they could also be conducting an "inquiry" (a formal investigation). In practice I hope its neither as this man's injury record speaks for itself.

We don't need a striker like Ings or Alcacer, we've already got Gabbiadini and Austin who are that type of striker. What we need is a quality target man and get rid of Carrillo. 6' 5" Bas Dost is available from Sporting Lisbon after scoring 70 goals in 90 games for them. He's the player the club should be pulling out all stops to sign.

Yes, since Saints now have the reputation of always being at the beck and call of the Scouse we would be the first to be mentioned when they want to off-load. However, you can tell this report is utter rubbish: when was the last time Spuds got into a bidding war with the likes of Saints, Burnley and Palace? I can just hear Pochettino: "I don't care how much it takes! We can't afford to let a player of his quality go to any of those three!! They'll knock us out of the top four!!"

Danny Ings to Tottenham ?... Yeah sure..he's bound to be good competition for Harry Kane, Son ... and Deli Ali (haha) BUT the thought of him coming to Saints conjures up thoughts of a fun night out in his old home tract in Hamble. Surely there must be at least one club who might want to corner the market on strikers who have some connection with Saints and /or Burnley. Ings, Jay Rod, Charlie Austin, Sam Vokes and Lukas Jutkewisc might all qualify. It might become a trend(?) as it was with Ted MacDougall and Phil Boyer- following each other from club to club as they did in the 1970's.... This defintely has the smell of Fake News about it, and although I'm glad for his sake that Ings has made some sort of a recovery from his successive injuries, I for one would be very surprised to see him in a Saints squad at any time int he future.
