Doncaster v QPR Betting Preview
Doncaster v QPR Betting Preview
Friday, 20th Nov 2009 20:06

The LFW pundits return to cast their eye over this weekend's game between Doncaster and QPR and look for value elsewhere in the weekend markets.

Winners last week for Brian moves him back into profit to the tune of £78.05. Lewis picked up £50 from the QPR game and just under a tenner on his Yankee bet as well but lost £10 elsewhere so is down by £105.36.

Brian Power
Hurrah a couple of winners last time, a correct score return at 8/1 and a winner on the horses meant a return of £99.

We travel to Donny Rovers this weekend in 4th place and getting results away from home. I think we can continue our good record away from home and I will also stick with Stewpeas to get the first goal at 33/1.

Some people may say that I throw this piece together on Friday lunchtime and sometime you are right but this week has been different. I have been going through the stats about correct scores to see if I could highlight anywhere we could get some profit. There have been 182 games in the Championship so far this season and the post popular score is 1-1 and this has popped up 35 times- a strike rate of just over 19%. If you had placed a £2 correct score on each game it would have cost you £364 so far and if you went on the popular score of at an average of 6/1 you would have netted a profit of £124. If you had put your £2 on the correct score of 3-3 at an average of 66/1 which has come up 4 times so far you would be showing a profit of £172. It highlights that the 1-1 draw can make you a profit if you are going to do it on a regular basis However for the benefit of this column we are going to back the 3-3 draw in All 12 championship games this weekend and go for bust.

I will also go for my 4 selections on the football coupon and will back Craig Bellamy to get the first goal against his former club and heap more misery upon Liverpool on Saturday.

For the weekend:
£10 D Stewart to score first goal 33/1

All Championship games this weekend £2 correct score 3-3 (total £24)

£2 trebles and a £2 acca
Villa 5/4
Cardiff 6/4
Bournemouth 13/10
Rotherham 13/10

£6 Craig Bellamy to score 1st Liverpool V Man City 15/2

Previously advised:
£10 Dallas Cowboys to win the Super Bowl 20/1

Lewis Jones
Going to have to be a brief one this week ladies and gentleman, the life of Lewis Jones has all of a sudden become quite a busy one.

Rangers travel to Doncaster with the excitement of a new signing in the ranks, Steven Reid. The former Millwall man is a class act and I think he is a brilliant signing. Hopefully he can start on Saturday along with Faurlin in the middle; it gives me a hard on thinking how good that partnership could be. Reid is 14/1 to score 1st with Betfred and can make himself an instant hero with the R’s faithful.

On the match itself, Doncaster are an under-rated side and despite us sitting forth – a draw would be a decent enough result. 12/5 is the price on the draw and it does look appealing. Also 1-1 is 6/1 and usually draws involving Rangers do finish with goal-a-piece.

I have the luxury of watching the game from the press box and is my debut into the world of press box at a QPR game. If you see an average looking guy being dragged away from the press area screaming because Routledge’s final ball was shit – give me a wave.

Elsewhere, I will chuck in an extravagant Lucky 15 with a few selections from racing and football. Hopefully this week I can produce the goods with doing as little research as possible as usually I am scouring the net for facts and figures and still end up with precious little winnings.

For the weekend:
£10 on Steven Reid to score 1st – 14/1 Betfred
£15 on QPR to draw with Doncaster – 12/5 Canbet
£10 on QPR 1-1 Doncaster – 6/1 Betfred

£1 x Lucky 15
Bristol City to beat WBA – 6/1 Bet365
Yeovil to beat Charlton – 13/5 Boylesports
Gillingham to beat Bristol Rovers – 10/3 Ladbrokes
Karabak (2.35 Ascot) – 10/3 Coral

Previously advised:
£10 QPR to win The Championship 14/1
