Rams Olympic Update: Ruben On Target!
Rams Olympic Update: Ruben On Target!

Derby County’s Ruben Zadkovich opened his Olympic Games account against Serbia in an entertaining 1-1 draw, while Benny Feilhaber featured in the United States 0-1 win over Japan.

In hot and steamy conditions Zadkovich slotted home a second half goal for Australia to take the lead. Serbia managed a 78th minute equaliser through Chelsea defender Slobadan Rajkovic who headed home to tie things up for a 1-1 draw. Zadkovich was lively and involved in most of Australia’s better moves, fully deserving his 70th minute goal.

Starting the game in right midfield he was pushed further forward late in the game as the Aussies searched for a winner that never came. Next up Australia face Games title holder and tournament favorite Argentina on Sunday.

Benny Feilhaber started as a substitute for the U.S.A in their 0-1 victory over Japan. The goal was scored by Scottish born Stuart Holden. Feilhaber appeared as a substitute on 82 minutes with little time to impact on the game. The U.S will be in action again on Sunday against the Netherlands.
