Cradley Day: Celebrating Steve Bloomer's Legacy Friday, 1st Oct 2010 18:01 by Trusted Reporter Derby County’s greatest player, the legendary Steve Bloomer, was born in the small West Midlands industrial town of Cradley. The town’s heritage group celebrate his memory every two years as part of their exhibition, known as Cradley Day. RamsTrust will be at Cradley Day 2010 on Saturday 2nd October and we are honoured to once again present our comprehensive Steve Bloomer display in order to remember football’s first superstar. Cradley Day 2010 takes place at Cradley Community Centre, Colley Lane, West Midlands B63, just a stone’s throw from Bloomer’s birthplace in Bridge Street, in 1874. Colley Lane is just off the A458 between Halesowen and Lye. The event runs from 10.30 am until 4.00 pm; admission is free and refreshments will be available.
