Please don’t let fear rule your life or your two daughters lives.

It concerns me that so many younger people are constantly being taught fear. Reject it.

Look at this way. If an adult was purposely scaring your kids in the street your first thought would be to smack them in the mouth. And yet TV programmes, journalists, school teachers are actually doing this with climate change day in and day out and people just accept it.

Take your kids to places you went when you were younger and point out that nothing has changed, it’s still the same landscape, just as it always was, they have nothing to worry about.

Go through your life with climate change, has anything materially changed that directly affects you or your families life. Is Loftus Road affected, getting to work, days out with the family, going on holiday? Have any of our coastal resorts disappeared into the sea? None of these things have happened or show any sign of happening.

If anyone acts to scare you, you can be fairly sure there’s an ulterior motive. As they say, ‘there is nothing to fear but fear itself’. We must all act to save our kids from this tyranny.

You’re totally right about the trains here, they are a disgrace.

Down to governments, the privatised rail companies, all manner of reasons.

However, despite their appalling record, it’s occasionally not all as it seems. During the second half of the last football season I was on the case of the outgoing MP for Epsom (better known as Chris Grayling, yes, I know) about the sub standard service they were providing, even for South West Trains. 4 train carriages on a weekend, packed to the rafters by my station and literal fights at following stations as they couldn’t get on the half hour service into London. It was a similar story on the way home after the game. Anyway, despite the to and fro, nothing much happened until an actual air conditioned 8 carriage turned up one saturday in April (we’d never seen an air conditioned train on this line, ever, so it was quite an exhilarating moment) so I thought the least I could do was text him, albeit in a sarcastic way, to thank him for his efforts. I did point out that the base of all the seats had a three inch deep layer of rust on all of them so clearly it’d been in the knackers yard for some time and asked where they’d got it from. Turned out it was a discard from a Bedfordshire line. Now admittedly, this is somewhat pathetic way to run a rail service so I bothered him a bit more. Apparently, there is actually a whole fleet of 10 carriage, brand new state of the art versions sitting in a sideline somewhere, and they have been for months, waiting to replace the decrepit fleet we have all been suffering but … they can’t get them on the track because the unions are refusing to sanction them, I know not why, but suspect it’s something to do with a guard and staffing.

Doesn’t make it any better but an insight into this fcked up country we live in.

The Greens are effectively Momentum these days having largely been kicked out of the Labour Party.

No harm really, a nice place for the Idealists to dance around the Maypole.

They’re missing Dykes.

I’d get my coat if I hadn’t turned the central heating back on.

That’s a very good synopsis of immigration working and indicative of the time you mention.

If you can’t find Brit plasterers, bricklayers, decorators, plumbers in your own industry it explains why I can’t when any work needed on my home and this is central to the problem.

Parents have been encouraged to send their kids to University, all for good reasons but it’s had a cataclysmic effect on this country. As much as anything, for a parent, sending your kid to University means them never having to get their hands dirty. And by and large, they don’t. Consequently, good well paid jobs, like in your industry, don’t get filled. Know of quite a few kids who really should have thought of these trades but they went to Uni, got a degree, and are invariably disenchanted working in a coffee shop or a pub bar. It’s an absolute waste for society and them as individuals.

Went out with a nurse when I was 19. They didn’t go to university, they lived and worked in and around their hospital, usually in huge buildings of nurses flats. They effectively had a kind of university education and had a great time but they did it directly around the work life rather than away from it. It was inclusive, there were no nurse shortages either.

I often refer to the law of unintended consequences and whilst Blair meant well, it’s absolutely crashed huge chunks of public services and the trades industry.

None of the parties ever mention this and a change of direction is not in any of their policies.

Subsequently we turned to immigration to solve the problem. It’s a shame we have to always come back to this as it’s ultimately about numbers and your countries ability to cope with numbers. Over the last 25 years we’ve increased our population by 10 million (average 400,000 a year). Our previous high was the previous 25 years, that was 2 million. It is physically impossible to create the infrastructure to cope with the last 25 years, no one can do it, no one can afford to do it. Right or left, we have to understand this otherwise this country will become unmanageable.

Exactly, should be another able bodied bench seater we much need.

My concern is we might be thinking of throwing another season out the window with the Dykes-Armstrong-Kolli trilogy in place.

I hope not.

All terribly sad, particularly for his family, but I don’t get the fascination with TV presenters.

If you went to your doctor and said I’m 67 years old and thinking of going on an hour and a half walk across rough terrain with no discernible cover in 100 degrees of heat on a Greek island at the height of summer, have you got any advice? I’d want him struck off if he didn’t say, you’re a fcking lunatic who needs your head examined. Just. Don’t. Do. It.

And yet people hang on their every word. It’s extraordinary.

Already the Daily Mail is questioning why the Greek authorities didn’t discover him sooner and disgracefully implying that holiday makers on Symi should be showing greater empathy than continuing their holiday activities unabated. Just be honest, the guy made a monumentally stupid decision and tragically paid for it with his life.

Genuinely have no idea what they’re talking about but I’ve pricked my ears up hearing whatever it is, its a lot cheaper than Sky.

Must be a market for someone who understands this stuff, knocking on doors old school, and offering the stick and coming in your house for a fee to program it and teach the likes of me, like a child, exactly how to operate it.

I’d be a whole lot more welcoming than I am with the present door knockers who offer to cut my trees for the cost of a small mortgage.

3rd in the Spanish League, good fixture.

Might as well ask Barca if they fancy a game whilst we’re in that part of the World.

Social credits is a brilliant idea.

You wonder who’s advising this idiot, it’s as if they want to get obliterated at the polls.

As it stands, there’s a huge chasm between spending a year in the armed forces and doing a bit of community work at the weekend and once a month at that. And how easy is it going to be to duck it altogether, can someone be allowed to refuse to do it on something like religious grounds?!

Sunak keeps banging on about grave threats to society, but never states specific threats. Either shut up or spell it out and stop talking in riddles.

Long thought Sinclairs best hope was watching and learning from the Traore manual, but I have a feeling Marti would go hoarse trying to get any defensive duties out of him.

Aside of Chair and Andersen, if we’re going to move in the right direction, all of these forwards need to be starting on the bench next season.

Whitney Houston

And worst of the lot, Green Day, who are basically an American McFly.

Best part; walking out confidently onto the first tee.

Worst part; walking off at the 18th thinking wtf happened there.

It’s not dissimilar to a visit to Loftus Road.
