| The Season is Done on 20:09 - Feb 14 by bongo_king | Agree on the pitch this season begins to look done. And if it's not, just as likely we get pulled close to the bottom 3 than we float towards the top 6. But off the pitch I think there are some important months coming up, which will decide whether or not the general direction of travel is working. We've spent a lot of money over the last 18 months (last 6 in particular), and there's a good chance we end up with exactly the same result as the two season before - 15th to 18th in the table and out in the 1st and 3rd rounds of the cup. The test then is if the sell upwards model working? To prove it probably needs us to sell about 3 players at a fair to good profit - my guess would be Varane, Madsen and probably Kolli (now Dembele has an ACL injury so no-one will take him). If we can't do that, one may begin to wonder what the last two years have been about. |
We need to start buying players for this division, rather than hoping someone will take a punt on a tiny winger who has one good game in six. Sorry to say but Saito is not physically strong enough for this league and looks an absolute liability. I reckon a ten-year-old girl could push him off the ball.

If your analysis is correct, what is the point of QPR? We end up (possibly) more or less where we've been forever - somewhere between mediocre and below average - and then try to sell our best players (who aren't that good anyway)! On that basis, I don't know Sisyphus and his f*cking rock isn't our club mascot.

Saito seems a likeable character but not suited to the burly hurly of the Champ. Unacquainted as I am with 10 year old girls, I couldn't possibly comment on the rest of your assessment.

Just try and beat what's in front of you that week. We've played a lot of the bottom sides away recently and been scared. Not how sport works if you want to progress.

I see some green shoots… could end up like the pitch but you gotta have some hope!
| The Season is Done on 21:15 - Feb 14 with 1676 views | baz_qpr | Most people would have given their right arm to be able to say the season is done in February, at the start of the season. Its progress its not 2011 and we dont have Adel Tarrabt so to expect us to go from relegation battlers to playoff contenders in a single season is a big ask. Lots of positives this season, we have strikers, Madsen redemption arc, return of Ronnie. Undone by squad depth which a club of our size is never going to have And you never know it only needs a run of 3 wins on the bounce and you are back in it with a fairly easy run in, Given the forthcoming fixtures unlikely but we tend to do better against the better teams | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Possibly his worst game today, goal aside I don’t think he made a single pass that didn’t get to a yellow shirt.

February 13, 2016, QPR lost 1-3 to Fulham. We finished 12 that that season. We lost 1-3 today and are placed 13th. Very, very slow progress. The only two people still at the club a decade later are the two at the very top of the tree: Owner Ruben Gnanalingam and current Chairman, former CEO and international man of mystery Lee Hoos. We never hear from either now. Everything else at QPR changes, and yet the results are exactly the same. Nobody would have given their right arm to be 13th in February 2026 who was going to QPR in February 2016.

Spot on. We were also in a very similar position at this point last season. I’m not seeing the big progress. But I am seeing a lot of money being spent…

| The Season is Done on 19:32 - Feb 14 by Superhoops2808 | Upvoted the OP in error What a crock of the proverbial. Still just 4 points off the play off's and plenty of players to return from injury When JS's best XI is available nothing is too late |
Wasnt a massive criticism or in anyway negative saying the season is done. We wont get relegated, but we have not a hope in hell of being in the playoffs. We have a decent squad and strength in depth but clearly a lot of our players are injury prone and thats why they are here. On their day some are top championship players but the loss of Madsen now potentially also was the final nail for the playoffs. Yes we are only four points off sixth, but there is a scrum of around ten vying for that one play off place. Some will go on winning runs. We won't. The top five are clear and some of those also have games in hand on us, as well. Yes our first eleven is very very competitive but we wont see that eleven again this season and my post for this thread is simply the reality of the situation. Nothing about negativity - simply being real. We are not in form either and we have much more challenging games ahead than today. Thats it in a nutshell. Over and out. Good night 2025/2026 season.... It's an enduring fallacy, driven by expectation bias, that we do better against better teams. This season we've won 6 points from seven games against the top six and 16 points from ten games against the bottom six. Similar story every season.

| The Season is Done on 20:15 - Feb 14 by KensalT | The season was probably done the minute Burrell (our top scorer) limped off to join Chair (our top creator) on the long term injury list. It would be a huge achievement to put together a playoff push without two such key players. We haven't got the squad depth to cover for those two losses, let alone all the other injuries we are carrying. We just have to hope the Madsen injury isn't a bad one. |
Don't worry, Chair is due back in December.

I don't get the oft-repeated claim on here that we would have "bitten your arm off" to be in this position in September. That's true, of course, but I don't truly understand the relevance. It's not like we were unfortunate to be docked a ton of points or something. We got hammered by Coventry and yet again our start to the season was slow and that's our fault, no-one else's. I'm so bored of our relentless mediocrity. We can't keep harking back to the bad start; we found some form and got ourselves into a decent position to attack 6th place. And we are blowing it in our usual depressing fashion. So many injuries (and lies about them), such weak mentality in the very winnable away games. Always comes back to standards. I remain unconvinced at the CEO, the manager, the whole damn club, as ever. We've had posts saying that we should praise Nourry for "good transfer windows". Really? I mean swapping Kone for Kelman (in effect) looks a decent shout, Burrell good of course, but spunking a lot of cash on Saito and Edwards? Jury's out there. As for getting rid of Sam Field - total joke. As a club with seemingly very few standards, its people like Field that need to be kept around as long as possible, whatever the moronic Twitter yoof think.

We know Edwards is a very good player but playing him at right back needs to stop as he was useless there yesterday and didn’t get forward to support Bennie at all. Play him in the centre, especially at home.

I didn't think he was especially bad at RB, but completely agree, we need to play him in his actual position. I'd also get Mbengue back in at RB. For all his disciplinary issues he gives some much needed pace there and is still learning.
| The Season is Done on 09:36 - Feb 15 with 908 views | R_from_afar | With the exception of Burrell, none of our attacking players have had a good season, sadly. That is clearly not helping our cause. Also, the reluctance to play Kolli, whatever it is due to, means that Kone a) faces less competition for his place due to our limited striking options and b) is being used a lot, potentially too much from an injury perspective. I'm crossing my fingers that we avoid a massive dip in form and long run of defeats if the play-offs get too far out of reach. | |
