Anyhow, am glad Stephan is finally getting some respect and gratitude sent his way, as many of our fanbase have been strangely negative or very laissez faire about the guy. He absolutely deserves credit. Unfortunately, if he keeps improving, he will be off to pastures new, higher up the daisy chain, soon enough. Hope he thinks this is the place I can really push on here and have a big impact. He is giving off the vibes that he is very invested in all things Rangers. Fatal error Julien !!! The issue being everyone seems to copy everyone else, even if certain practices don't work. ie When Pep's City players pass around at the back endlessly and possession football was seen as the only way, everyone copied. Just because we are doing things the way everyone else does things, it doesn't make it right. |

Hopefully QPR negotiated a no break clause in the loan agreement, so breaking the loan to loan or sell him elsewhere is not permitted, I would hope.. He certainly wont be recalled to replace Donnaruma. I think a whole season with us, will massively up his value, so I doubt personally we will lose him in January. [Post edited 12 Oct 18:23]

We are not overplaying players, they have only played nine games so far and had a three week break. And whatever the perfomance teams advice, which i personally believe is taking into consideration on not playing players more than the allotted time, prior to the game sometimes, the phrase if aint broke dont fix it. Its not as if this protecting of players has ever worked. We consistently have at least double figures in players unavailable or only.possible to achieve a few minutes and we still seem to average around two new players out injured each match, this season. You massively cherry picked my explanations in my post. Was basing my theory on three seasons not one game. And my explanation looked at a variety of different depaetments input and effect on this. But yes if as you say we are not overplaying players to prevent time out injured,as in the case of Burrell or Chair last season. Not sure what point you are making that we are protecting players from injuries this season, to prove the importance of not causing more injuries. Ie we have been picking up injuries every game. Beale didnt ruin Willocks career, he was inconsistent anyhow. He is at Cardiff now, so still in the championship. [Post edited 12 Oct 18:00]

Thought Kolli, in the end did well to create a shooting opportunity. No problems with him taking the shot on. Kamara may have been in a slighty better position, but no guarantees and Kolli obviously the better finisher. i thought he did fine myself. Appeared a lot fitter than previous too. Was an encouraging performance for me. |

Squad Balance is the key 1. Up and coming players 2. Championship level players 3. Potential stars but injury prone But the stats guys need to look at the types of injuries these players get, with the likelihood, certain injuries reoccur. And realistically in a squad of 25, we have to work out the likelihood, that with all potential availabilities, we have at teast 16 of this group available at any given time. Also, in addition to this, our training routines, our matchday tactics, our schedules all need to be carefully managed. Players being injured in training such as Saito and Lloyd recently and Vale, injured in a match warm up, that should never ever happen. That means that the way they are in these sessions for those particular players was very wrong. And also I know Stephan said predecided timings for players coming back are his choices alone. Personally, I trust a managers instinct as opposed to a database run by a performance team that is still failing. And especially bringing on a more injury prone player who normally plays on the other side of the pitch. i am unconvinced still that the importance of the performance teams recommendations is worth much. And am sure also training methods, warming up techniques, to me there has been some shockingly poor advice. Ultimately we have a far better squad on paper so we can cope with injuries which are inevitable but within our squad we need to have on average at any one time, 16 decent players able to play a part and i would say 9 or 10 minimum of those that could be playing 90 minutes. This bringing on players to prevent injuries, we are getting this wrong consistently. Personally i think its highly recommended to Stephan, so am sure that would have been the advice. Yes some of the recruitment has been highly risky, but the balance is still not correct. Easy to say, but i feel personally our performance team has too much clout and wrong decisions are being made by this team consistently in the advice they give about training, in game management and recruitment. I think most aspects of our club are perforning admirably, but the guys in the treatment rooms looking at the stats around this are failing. i hope this improves but i have little confidence in them. They have too much clout for me. And its been consistently poor for three seasons. Appreciate we always have to take some calculated risks with our squad, and yes the schedules are tough but I think we are failing badly with availability and for me those problems mean we need change, aa i have seen no signs of this team learning. The thing about Charles is he appears completely nerveless and he completely backs himself. For a keeper to be that confident at any stage of his career, is incredibly impressive but for a young man at the age Pierce is now, its almost unheard of. I did feel for Walsh. You could see he was a confidence keeper, but sadly mistakes seemed to weigh heavy with him. I hope he can carve out a career, but it will be tough. Such confidence that Charles has within, is not something that can be taught. You can have all the attributes, but if the nerves turn to jelly in front of 20 thousand fans, its tough. Not only is he brilliant, he lnows it too. The Northern Ireland team could benefit for many years. Will be an all time great for them, am sure. If he was English, I would place him above Pickford already. [Post edited 12 Oct 2:29]

Crikey, appreciate the level this guy is playing at here, but WOW. In attack, which is all that was shown in those clips, he is an absolute MONSTER. Superb finishes, and an excellent crosser too. Am aware Cory is still only 18, but think we may have a LIVE one here. When i saw the video footage of him during the pre season friendlies, he looked decent and incredibly strong and developed for one so young, but in addition to this, he has some nice touches, but wasn't aware of his abilities to finish a move. Thank you for posting this DMM. Hopefully our prospective "left back" here continues on the upward trajectory when tested at higher levels [Post edited 11 Oct 15:23]

Would agree though, Kemper didnt look like he was running out of steam either and we replace him with another player coming back from injury, who promptly got injured. Its not Stephans decision. Overruled perhaps. Most players who start, should be able to do 90 minutes though as against 70 minutes, without aggravating an injury. Ever since we have had these sports scientists managing players minutes to protect all our boys from injuries, we have had the worst run of injuries I have ever known in our history. And some subs have disrupted our rythym as a result. Seems to be a minimum of two injuries every game. Some in the warm ups, some in the youth games. Great though we have these sports specialists. Am pretty cynical about this as seems a bit of a conmans game from all I have seen. [Post edited 9 Oct 23:26]

 | Forum Thread | The first 70 minutes was Super Professional at 23:10 9 Oct 2026
Yes we were lucky to get the pen. Super pen though. But we were deserving to lead and completely in control. At 70 minutes, they had a speculative overhead from Bowen and a cross that had to be tipped over. 2 attempts, neither on target. That was all in 70 minutes. Last 20 minutes with only nine men effectively, they had 10 more attempts, 5 on target. Many more positives to take from that against the supposed best team in the league, who have been scoring for fun, prior to today. [Post edited 9 Oct 23:33]

King Charles now Brian. Been upgraded tonight from Prince. Our best ever loans in the past. We have had a few, but Wayne Routledge, Nakhi Wells and Kyle Walker come to mind, but am very confident this boy will be our best ever and to say that about a player who has only just turned 21 is mad. Unfortunately, unless we miraculously go up, he is here for this season only. We would not be able to afford him. For me he will be in the prem next season, even if City get relegated. Too good not to be. When we signed first Calum Ward who got the accolade for Scottish League goalkeeper of the season and must have thought he was here as a number one. I hope Pierce is teaching him all he knows this season and he benefits from training with Pierce. [Post edited 9 Oct 22:56]

Kemper was always coming off at that time Connell.Understood that one. Hindsight but i would have put Adamson left back where he has done well and put Mbengue on for Kemper with Mbengue at right back. Lamptey coming back from injury, more of a wing back anyhow than a full back and injury prone, against effectively the best player in the league was daft. But he had also taken off Smyth previously and put Vale on, who was cleaned out earlier in the move but didnt get back at all to give Lamptey any support either. Smyth helps a lot more in defence than Vale also. Was taking a chance with wide players of Lamptey and Vale v Bowen anyhow. I wouldnt have taken Smyth off for me. Was having a very decent game. If aint broke, dont fix it. [Post edited 9 Oct 22:46]

Pierce Charles - What a goalkeeper. Going to be fun with him playing for us. Unfortunately Lamptey seems made of glass and was not up to speex in the only bit of play Bowen showed any of his qualities. And Mbengue - NOOO !!! Basically nine men at the end !!! Despite a few things gping our way to get the draw, atinutes we were extremely comfortable. Got to be pleased overall, as can compete with the best of them. Well done Rangers. We have made the title favourites look like no hopers. I like the fact in attack, its a midfield three - Madsen, Kamara and Edwards. In defence back three of Dunne JCS and Edwards. Thats working a treat at the moment. Wasnt a pen but we deserve the lead though. Love that pen by Madsen though. Severely cool dude. All QPR players have had a decent half. [Post edited 9 Oct 20:59]
