| Forum Thread | Steven Humphrys interview at 20:49 10 Jan 2021
A fascinating insight, basically Paul McShane came on, starting shouting at them to get forward etc, they changed shape to Humprhys and Beesley as a front two, and basically got in amongst them - ie. more direct! Surely that must be our style for future games? |
| Forum Thread | According to the Times at 20:00 9 Nov 2020
Saturday was the 52nd time we have lost in the first round of the FA Cup - a record apparently. To add to the number of times we applied for re-election I think. TVOS will advise I am sure, I certainly remember when I was younger we seemed to do both most years! |
| Forum Thread | Transfer deadline day at 09:07 5 Oct 2020
Is today the final day for transfers/loans until January? Apologies for my uncertainty but this is a very odd season! |
| Forum Thread | Injuries at 21:39 20 Sep 2020
Enjoyed our performance today, and certainly can’t fault the effort, but the injuries really concern me. There will those who blame late back off furlough, the number of games so early in the season, but if I look back to last season we had exactly the same sort of injury problems. Are we just unlucky, for example Humphrys didn’t even do pre season with us, or is there something we are missing? Whatever it is, it is a great concern as the memory of Calvin at centre half last season still haunts me........ |
| Forum Thread | Contracts in June at 18:15 14 Mar 2020
Given the current situation club finances across all leagues will be as ‘weak’ as they have ever been come June 2020. Those players who are out of contract, or those who have deliberately run down their contracts for their agents to tout them around ‘for sale’ to the highest bidder might just find themselves in a buyers not a sellers market. Might even apply to a couple of our players who earlier in the season were allegedly offered great deals but turned them down to put themselves on the open market in June. Sometimes loyalty can be a good thing after all ........... [Post edited 14 Mar 2020 22:15]

Now in place till the end of the season - well done the Club! |
| Forum Thread | Have we ever? at 07:32 19 Dec 2019
Reached the 3rd round of the FA Cup and the EFL Cup in the same season. In all my years of support I can never remember it happening and to then draw two Premier League teams in the 3rd round is dream land in comparison to only a few years ago and certainly in comparison to most of my decades of support! This in a season where we have a squad decimated by injuries is an amazing achievement. |
| Forum Thread | Is it just me? at 22:00 2 Dec 2019
Who is absolutely fed up with the constant attacks on this forum of people who in my experience are trying to do their best for the club. Rewind 12 months and some of the same people were making the same attacks on the previous Board and the previous management. Do these people really want the best interests of the club or do they look forward to the next defeat to spill out their venom which in any other context other than social media would lead to legal action for defamation. The team are going through a bad run - agreed - but all the negativity leads nowhere. Me? I buy club shop merchandise for people who probably don't want it for Christmas but it is my way of supporting the club I love. I talk to friends who support other clubs who talk of horror stories far, far worse than anything we know and warn - be careful what you wish for ....... If I was a potential investor and looked at this board I would be scared off, would you really want the sort of personal investigation that some people feel is fair game? What of the accusers' personal circumstances, are they subject to the same investigation? And do these people have a life or do they spend their life on social media attacking the club and the people who run it - if they are our 'friends' then thank goodness they are not our enemies. I may be alone .......... [Post edited 2 Dec 2019 22:01]

| Forum Thread | Andy Thorpe injury update at 15:16 15 Nov 2019
Really interesting in depth report from Andy Thorpe on the official site - Freeview - a refreshingly open approach compared to recent years! It also makes you realise the resource now spent behind the scenes on the infrastructure when he compares the past with the current - money is not only needed to pay for players............. |

Anybody any idea what the winning number was for tonight? |
| Forum Thread | Quest visit Bolton next Saturday at 22:53 12 Oct 2019
Previewed tonight - they are broadcasting from Bolton next week, featuring their game against us! What with their current position, and of course Keith Hill's background, I suppose it makes an obvious choice. Doubt if we get any cash out if it, but a chance to impress, and hopefully 3 more points. Tough fixture though, Keith will move heaven and earth to get his team to produce a performance against us. Hopefully BBM will do the same........ |
| Forum Thread | Goalkeepers at 09:17 2 Oct 2019
How did Lynch play yesterday? Is there any question of him replacing Sanchez at any point or is it a clear one and two in the pecking order? With Josh making a new career as a full back .... |

Confirmed as Wednesday 25th September - no news on TV though....... |
| Forum Thread | Shrewsbury’s goal at 20:02 9 Mar 2019
As I thought at the time, and subsequently proved by the Sky highlights, the cross for the Shrewsbury goal was well beyond the line, it should have been a goalkick. So perhaps our ‘luck’ in the last minute was our just reward! |
| Forum Thread | Goalkeepers! at 22:27 8 Jan 2019
As you can see from my username I have been supporting the Dale for many, many years but I can never remember a season when we have had such a succession of goalkeeping errors. Even in the dark, dark days we always used to say we had good 'keepers as they had plenty of practice! In the past maybe the odd mistake, and some individuals who were awful but didn't last long, but this season we have had three 'keepers who match after match make at least one game changing mistake. It is costing us points on a regular basis and tonight potentially £40,000 which we can ill afford to lose. The team's confidence is fragile at best but with goalkeeping errors like we have witnessed this season is it any wonder? |
| Forum Thread | Worried! at 20:39 5 Dec 2018
Chris Dunphy would never have resigned voluntarily and at such short notice, nor his great friend and ally Bill Goodwin, this is a boardroom revolution. Chris Dunphy is Rochdale through and through and has guided the club through thick and thin. I think this news may have far greater adverse consequences than any of us can see at the moment. It certainly puts the weekly debate over the rights and wrongs of Keith Hill's team selections and tactics into perspective! |
| Forum Thread | Sack the Manager at 08:54 25 Oct 2018
Ipswich Town - sack Mick McCarthy - little money but mid table. Bring in Paul Hurst - the benefits of change, new ideas, players etc..................., now bottom of the league - all hope lost - 'we will be playing the likes of Rochdale next season' wail the fans. Be careful what you wish for ................. 8 hours later - and now Paul Hurst is sacked!! [Post edited 25 Oct 2018 18:07]
