Gillette Fusion 5

I don't have any issues with Gillette razor blades, or funnily enough, any that are blue. It's the yellow ones that I wouldn't recommend, unless you are wanting to erase your face.

Next season’s squad

In fairness I don't think that many other Championhp teams are producing their own starlets off the conveyour belt season in season out. Most of the impressive youngsters in the Championship are on loan from Premiership clubs. It doesn't look to me that we are that far behind other Championship teams in terms of youth development.

I disagree. His first touch was imminently better than Saito's, Bennie's and Smyth's and his footballing brain is better than any those of those three and Kone's. I thought he played better than all the aforementioned when he came on and should have started. In fact, I'd basically put him in the Chair role in the starting line up, be that centrally or on the left.

Kolli has to play. Even if he doesn't have the power of say, Kone, or the speed of Saito. The technical quality between the front four yesterday was very low for a front four - balls bouncing off their shins, mis-placed passes, not getting heads up. Even if he doesn't have the pace of a winger or the power of a number nine, you need a player up there who can control the ball and make a telling pass. Kolli has to play.

Saw the first episode on Monday and wasn't sure where it would go. But the same could probably be said of the first episode of the Detectorists and that turned out to be compulsive viewing. So I'm sure Small Prophets will deliver. McKenzie Crook is so talented. His characters and storylines are very rarely stereotypical. You couldn't make it up ....

I doubt it. Bannon is fading into the past. Field has much more to offer at this level.

I partly agree. But just for the moment Dunne and Cook at CB's is working well, and should not be altered just for the moment.

And re CB's being comfortable on the ball, a shout out for Jimmy Dunne when he receives the ball with a striker breathing down his neck. He has come on in leaps and bounds on turning out of trouble when he is the last man. He is excellent at it. It needs to be noted.

I thought it was the right decision and I was pleased to see the referee sticking to the rules and pissing off both sets of supporters in the process. It made my night and I went to bed a happy man.

He is a bit of an affected character but if I'm being honest, he is not doing a bad job there with limited resources. If he can keep them up at Leicester, West Brom's or Blackburn's expense then he will have got his CV back on track.

Any questions about human behaviour, always start off by going back to our origins and how our actions relate to our needs to find food, shelter, protect ourselves first.

Why we then allowed ourselves to be ruled by empires, countries and governments which feel the need to subjugate subjects I have never really understood but I think it is because after we realised that we could go beyond meeting our needs we decided that we wanted to become the dominant species.

I think he did quite well. He missed the chances, but we know that he has scored some good goals so that will come with more self-belief and less anxiety. I think it was a good move to bring him on against their small left back and with Saito on I don't think we dropped below our quota of pocket dynamos

Really pleased for the players and staff today. Last Saturday must have been gut-wrenching. Great to get the win today - personally, I couldn't see where a goal was coming from after they scored (which I think Walsh could have prevented). Very important win today, enables us to go to Charlton and be OK with a point if that is what we have to settle for. Hope we can get the new striker up an running soon. Kone beginning to look like he needs a rest in games after 75 minutes.

I'm sure they will 100% want to get something out of the game and will have prepared for it (i.e. you have been told many times that JS's pressers are just soundbites in which he sounds upbeat to conjure up some optimism ...)

Anyway, with regard to this afternoon my biggest concern is that Kone is far from the complete number nine and we do not have a system which allows him to be below par (additionally I'm not sure the second striker, whoever that may be today, will be a sufficient Burrell replacement). Anyway, hopefully, a Dembele, Vale, Smyth, Saito shot goes in and we can cling onto something.

Life of Brian is sheer genius

If I'm being honest, I get a bit tired of fabricated situation comedies like Fawlty Towers etc.

This week I've been watching The Detectorists (Series 1). The fact that it's not over-played makes it so much endearing and amusing. Lead Balloon also, it's more realistic.

Not Going Out - the scripts are really funny
