Comment | Southampton V Bolton Wanderers The Verdict

The error in not giving the penalty was annoying but I'd rather give up some missed opportunities than have VAR. In any case, over a season, luck tends to even itself out.
To my eyes we looked tired. 3 games in 6 days took its toll. Overall, 7 points out of 3 games is a good return.
Someone needs to step up to provide an effective alternate to Larin or we need to recruit. Simple. |

I always take it that adding back the deducted 4 points just gives an indicator of form, nothing more. We were much further behind the promotion/playoff positions in points last season when Tonda took over, so we are well ahead of last year.

What !?! The man who stopped Man City getting the quadruple. Mind you even that may be taken away from him now.
I'm sure the players felt the same as the fans when he gave his unhinged post match interviews. It appeared he was out of his depth and his ego just couldn't take it. |

Comment | Southampton Said To Have Lined Up Ironic Ending For Interim Manager If Eckert Banned

Difficult to tell what will happen. Has the 'soft' mood music from the club this week been for the fans or for the FA?
We now have a serious legal team in place and you would hope that lessons have been learned from the absolute debacle around the EFL hearing.
I'm hoping a shortish 1 month ban and a fine will be enough to show the FA are serious about the matter but take into account the punishment already received
As you say longest day, there will be a lot of glancing at my phone today.

ItchenNorth - fair points. I agree 100% that we are going to definitely need to add an experienced head upfront in January. |

I think we are going to really regret letting Stewart go. His fitness was being managed and he gave a good option to hold the ball up or knock a goal in the last 20 minutes. Given how he was playing, failing to exercise the option for the additional year well before the end of the season was a total cock up. |

Hopefully the stupid spygate video will shift the momentum from the Wrexham dressing room to ours. Total cringefest. |

I thought Mubama played well in his brief spell. He kept possession of the ball and laid it off intelligently plus he got an assist.
Bragg I also thought made the most of his chance. He needs to hit the weights room tho and beef himself up a bit to prevent being bumped off the ball too easily.
Hopefully JWP can act as a bit of a mentor for the younger players to bring them on quickly. |

Comment | Saints Looking To Take Young Defender On Loan From Nottingham Forest

This seems far more likely than £8-12 Million on another overseas player. Still got no real idea on any FA Tonda disruption this season which worst case could scupper any promotion push. If don't go up, parachute payments will be cut again. Rather have any money available put towards another experienced striker.
