I wouldn't count it anyway, especially when it comes to those who like to quote it to put down Ian Henderson's achievements.

The Rose Bowl v Oldham, however....

I thought he did a good job as player-assistant manager to Parkin, but not so much to Buckley.

I'm wondering whether this last week is seeing the start of Boreham Wood slipping away from the title race.

You're being harsh on the game at Solihull. Conditions dictated the game that night - believe me, it was wild and windy at times - and the number of times passes were overhit and/or caught on the wind and wet surface was significantly more than we are used to seeing.

It needed a patient performance, especially as the home side did everything to stifle us, which was odd considering how many goals they have been scoring lately.

I agree this is our best chance of a title and I've said all along, that whoever finishes above York will most likely win the league.

We are actually doing better than them on PPG and we are showing without doubt that we have the credentials to do it.

We had 14 shots

We hit the woodwork 4 times.

We scored two goals and missed a penalty as well.

We did none of those things in a completely different style of game at Solihull that we won with a goal that was a cross, in the words of the scorer.

We had 14 shots.

How do you know what Southend will or won't do? None of us have a clue. Look at Solihull last Wednesday; they had scored 7, 5 and 3 in recent games, yet showed no attacking intent whatsoever.

Forest Green scored as many as we did yesterday from fewer shots and lost.

Our attacking intent was shown in the number of shots we had. The fact we didn't take as many of them as we should is a separate argument.

Sorry, TS, I can't agree with that at all about free hits.

We need to keep winning, especially as York aren't showing any let up. Forget goal difference, that's irrelevant now, we are going to have to beat them on points.

If we win on Tuesday, we go top and the pressure is then suddenly back on York to get something at Solihull next weekend.

The ball then swings back to our court when we play Boreham Wood as York don't play that night. They then have Forest Green at home on the day we play Carlisle.

If we lose on Tuesday and York win on Saturday, we're four points behind them and suddenly the games in hand stop being free hits.

One loss could easily become another (see Boreham Wood) and then momentum is lost and can be hard to get back.

Let's try to keep up what we've achieved so far. It won't be easy and there will be bumps in the road, but one thing this season should have taught us is that the characters in this squad clearly have a winning mentality, and it will be needed in the next three months.

According to the Match Stats in the Non-League Paper, we had 14 shots yesterday, the same as Scunthorpe and Forest Green combined in their game.

We've also collected nine points in the last week, whereas Forest Green have collected two.

Forest Green have one win in six league matches and are currently six points behind us having played four games fewer.

I know whose shoes I'd rather be in.

Gordon's goal was disallowed at Woking. We haven't played at Sutton yet.

Having said that, it was so early in the game that there's no saying how the next 80+ minutes would have panned out. We might have won, lost or still drawn. It's pure speculation.

You're right about the Brackley game, though. However, if we miss out on promotion by one point to, say, York, then our results against them will have been of more importance.

There's also no guarantee our "first team" would have beaten Brackley. They should have done and probably would have done, but 'should' doesn't win points.

Edit: And for balance, Henderson was offside when he scored at Morecambe (I've seen an alternative angle) and I think we got away with another when Gilmour scored v Aldershot. Swings and roundabouts.

Not sure Solihull are a rival, per se.

Southend was in the FA Trophy.

Impossible to say, especially as one win is sort of worth 6 points.

However, there are 17 games between the current top 7 in February, so the picture should be a bit clearer after that lot.

It was recorded officially by the club as the 90th minute and was from open play.
