Think it would exist regardless. I despise what Sky have done to the sport but it can’t be in their interests for the match to be stopped twice for an indefinite period of time because a flag is no longer suitable on its own for a linesman.

Peter Alliss. He was a commentator. Did a brilliant balance of explaining things for novices without being condescending about it and giving real insight and a few laughs to people more versed in the game. Michael Holding, Sid Waddell. The likes we won’t hear again and in ten years it’ll be KSI and Cole Palmer telling us 35-year-old Saka has really frubed a 6-7 before zonking it to Mars

Did enjoy Neville slaughtering that nonsense delaying the game (twice for a total of about 15 minutes) yesterday because the linesman’s mic wasn’t working.

We got the lower for the Boxing Day game. Went there when they played Watford this season who don’t give away teams a big allocation and they had it. I’m not so sure it’ll be a huge game for us anyway but nice to dream.

Also Pompey had it at the weekend.

I know they aren’t for everyone but of the ‘big’ clubs I like Spurs, relatively speaking. To pick that team full of stodge and be played through so easily with the crowd up and a new manager was dreadful. Like Redknapp going full coagulant with a team of defenders and ‘DMs’ and still having a ten yard gap for the opposition’s one striker in the middle of the goal. It really could happen.

No Prem games that weekend at all so Sky will have some weird and wonderful plans announced at the absolute limit of their self-imposed four week rule. It could easily be the Thursday night.

Also gave us another 90 minutes when visibly not 100% when so many footballers, at QPR and otherwise, won’t play with any slight twinge nowadays. Should be a given that you play through the pain occasionally but it isn’t and fair play to him for that.

I like Callum Styles at left-back. I’m sure of those we’d want there are some on mind-boggling wages.

They need to bin Ramsay and admit they’ve made a big mistake. Wild to go with Mason with little to no experience, decide he’s not right and go for this bloke rather than a boring Rowett type to see them through another season. Must have been a hell of a PowerPoint to blag it.

Lovely finish for the goal but thought he was much better outside the box than in many away games. Though Kolli didn’t have a great game it helped just having someone near to him. Takes some balls to finish like that after the nonsense a few minutes earlier.

Yeah I’m not having Saito playing like a shy child away from home as being on the manager. On the manager to pick him in the first place if there are other senior players available but when they cross the line you just hope they do the basics well and want it at least as much as the other team.

Would it even be QPR without a horrific run about this time after a pretty horrific run over Christmas leaving us talking about what would happen if we lose the next six and Portsmouth, West Brom and Leicester simultaneously turn into prime Barcelona for a month?

Deal until the end of the season. Would assume there’s a nice bonus for keeping them up and a longer contract on offer if it’s not a disaster. Gets him a few months’ work and into the shop window to be the next manager of Championship Club X if he’s perceived to have done a decent job but can’t be bothered with the unenviable task of sorting out that mess of a squad over the summer.
