He's done really good stuff and some other things I'm a lot less keen on. I think he talks a good game on the Academy but am still in the have heard it all before position with it, Les Ferdinand made the same noises and after some success that soon died a death, I hope this is different but am skeptical. We are in a much better place with the squad than 2 years ago but you'd be hard pushed to make it worse when spending as much as we have. I'm very indifferent towards him at the moment, I can't get my head around those who love and worship him just as much as I don't get why people absolutely hate him. For me he's just another in a long line of CEO's at QPR who are OK but not brilliant. [Post edited 27 Jan 14:52]

We were on the bus Saturday with a load of 16/17 year old QPR fans planning several away trips. They must all be mad but is a good sign for the future. My sons 16 now and is proper brain washed, he had his first sweary meltdown on Saturday when the 3rd went in, I was a mix of proud and embarssed. |

I think the fact we all saw Dunne to this with Walsh probably means the ref saw it as well which is why the ref told him to just get up. We just needed to keep the ball rather than play dead and just get more time added on |

The ones who were the most fired up basically weren't being picked last season, I don't think it's much deeper than that |

He did a good job with us, for all the mocking of his efforts last season we're only 2 points better off having spent a fortune last summer. Obviously not gone well at Leicester, that doesn't make him a terrible manager, I don't think that squad they have is anywhere near as good as they think it is, am sure he will bounce back and do well somewhere else. |

Considering we seem to very often lose the 3rd game of a 3 game week and it's hapepend under McClaen, Warbs, Marti and now Julien do we perhaps start to think it's not the manager that is the problem. Maybe we should be doing a lot more on the mental side of the game and the fitness side so we can cope with the schedule alot better which really is in the main the same schedule in the EFL for about 20 years and won't be changing anytime soon. |

Mbengue has been in this situation a lot though with a yellow card in the last 10. I'm with you today in saying of course he should have taken him off but thats with hindsight. Overall the back 4 were pretty good yesterday, it was in midfield where the legs had gone and where he made that final change. I have a bit of sympathy with the manager on this one |

I'm not sure what you want him to say after a game like that. I thought he was right in what he said, we were excellent first half, not good enough second half but did well to get back in front then last 4 minutes was idiotic. |
 | Forum Reply | Four minutes of injury time at 11:57 25 Jan 2026
I thought we just invited them to have long shots and put the ball in our box so was just asking for trouble, we managed that 4 minutes so poorly and even at 2-2 just keep the ball and take the point. Was really poor after what had been a much better performance before the sending off |

I imagine the season wil probably drift a bit now but it's a huge opportunity if we can put a few wins together. In this league it only takes one good week and you are right in the mix. My hope is we get to April still 3/4 points from Playoffs so we have something to play for in the last few weeks. |
 | Forum Reply | Charlton sold out at 17:57 23 Jan 2026
We're only 3 points off the playoffs with 18 games left, There is loads to play for. This opportunity where 2 of the 3 relegated sides are crap won't come along again for a while. |

yeah that lack of pace up front is an issue without Burrell but when we play with Cook & Dunne what they give you defensivley the team does drop back 10 yards so Kolli and Kone or whoever is up front are getting the ball a lot deeper and in areas they can't hurt anyone. Julien is the same as all managers though. it is very rare for them to change system unless they have to. Marti was the same and stuck with 4-2-3-1 all the time even when half the squad was injured. |

It did make a difference when JCS was playing, certainly at home we had a little 3/4 match run where we looked really good going forward. I'd go with Ronnie and see if we can recreate that. If the performances continue as they are when you do that then I think you are probably right and we might need to add an extra midfield player to the team. Away from home is more where the problems are at the moment, I don't think we've looked any good on the road all season bar that Wrexham away game. |

Last season we had 4 clean sheets in a row against Cardiff City,Watford,Norwich City and Oxford. Before that we had 3 in a row in 2023/24 Preston North End, Hull City, Plymouth Argyle Before that it was under McClaren in 2018 Nottingham Forest, Ipswich Town, Reading |

I think since JCS last hobbled off we've lacked that player to bring the ball out and start attacks from the back, get us a bit higher up the pitch. We've been a bit hit and hope with the midfield coming deep to get the ball and we're struggling to build attacks. hopefully when Ronnie Edwards comes in that is something we might see an improvement in. |

On the Sky ref watch show the other day they were saying VAR must come in, they showed 4 examples of bad decsions from the weekend. Dermot Gallagher agreed all 4 decsions would be unchanged by VAR but it should come in anyway. Absolutley pointless |

If the club have an offer for Varane with money rather than a loan and we might buy him in the summer if we go up then Varane will be sold. I just think if anyone comes in with 1-2 million for Field they'll take that, not as if he is playing at the moment. One thing on Field which some may not know, his appearance last night took him to 188 Apps in the Championship/Division Two in old money. Only Tony Hazell (202) and Ilias Chair (256) have played more games at this level in our history. he moved above Dave Clement (187) last night. Jimmy Dunne is not far behind on 178, he'll go level with Ian Gillard the next time he plays. https://www.qprhistory.co.uk/r |
